national guard raising their hands so they're not caught with their hands on their guns, 2 of em were too slow though
also, new longest streak
the 200mm makes for an awful street lens (who woulda thought)
very far minimum focus distance and unpleasantly soft until f16 and also the k3iii is not pleasant for manual focus. i need to see if i can find a split screen prism for it...
however... it does make me like the idea of telephoto for street. maybe something in the like 100mm range would be nice.
the nikon df kinda mostly works (except when it doesnt lol)?? mirror locks up with an increasing frequency the higher the shutter speed it shoots at. uhhhhhh i dunno Mechanical Failure. enjoy these shots i took with it while trying to figure out wtf going on after retrieving it up here in the north
i could probably do an entire month of just editing the backlog. ended up focusing todays no-sleep energy on a newsletter my friends and i are starting so backlog it is.
taking less photos and keeping even fewer. these 3 are the okayest out of 31 i took on a couple mile walk. much much much to learn. DC is a hard city to photograph i feel.
realized the correct way to execute this is to dither to 16 bits? i think? first sky image is no dither second is with. the difference between the two is fucking minuscule and i cant be certain that im not just tricking myself. as you can see my technique is very scientific.
from december
my df might be ready to come back home soon, repair guy says it seems good, he's gonna test it thoroughly tuesday, then it's in the mail if all goes well!
the lx3 is almost a great street camera... it's small and the manual focus on it actually shows you your depth of field for your given aperture, allowing for accurate zone focusing!
unfortunately there's no way to completely disable the lcd, and it chugs thru battery fast. but if i turn off the camera it 1) takes a couple seconds to be able to shoot and 2) doesnt remember my last set manual focus point x . x
despite all that i got this shot which i like quite a bit
