I feel bad I've been neglecting this so much! I've been doing so much studying for my graphic design course. Today though I've been rounding out my Manga Studio 5 brushes into a little family. If you use MS5 it's available here for free!

Here's a lil test I did to figure out how I wanted the more rendery* brushes to work.

*The brushes aren't intended to do anything super render-y, I made them so I could add simple shading to lineless stuff but if you're able to do anything more detailed please show me your results!

wanted to make a simple one. Sort inspiration from one of the fields I drew initially.

During today's stream, I did more work towards the first submission of my Weekly Walk cycle streak with my character, Princess Sophia. I also drew an illustration of my mascot, Apparition, toiling away at the tablet screen to announce my study stream. My croquis today were not strong. I'm probably going to do some more sessions after I post this.

I kind of like the messy lines in my work rather than bold solid ink lines. Do you think I could get away with that if I improved my coloring?

Darkened and textured some more, I'm calling it done. It's not as great as I'd like it to be, but I'm out of ideas for how to make it work better. I also gesso'd the rest of the plate and will paint that with acrylics tomorrow to create a clean frame

Since I'm working on a prototype I'm going to focus on basic motions to get the point across. If this goes well, I'll be able to work on a more refined version that includes moving the hair and dress.
