I did about 30 or so figures but I can't muster the energy to do more. I ended up watching some gross looking animal animation with Penbee called "The Book Of Nature" and I dont understand why it gotta look this way oh my god

Today was Chinua Achebe's birthday! He would have been 87 years old today, and his works provided much needed inspiration and wisdom to my father. I narrowly missed the chance to meet my namesake before he died, but sadly I was sick on the day he came to my college.

Today was rather eventful on the commission front. I finished three sprites and one character design/full body commission, though I am unwilling to post that anywhere because it is material that is typically on my unpostables list.

I tried to get as many figure drawings done as I could today without missing my commissions. Onward...

Tried to stream but there wasn't much interest today. Everyone seems to be moving to mastodon for some reason, so I hunkered down and made one -- https://mastodon.art/@blkmkt -- and Penbee made one too! https://mastodon.art/@penbee

I learned a new technique for approaching colored work in Leonardo today! In order to keep shading quick, I lay down my flats after making lines. I take my flats layer and duplicate it, adjusting the color to create my shadows. I then make a new layer under the shadow layer and make the shadow layer a clipping mask - then I can draw in my shadows where I want them. Leonardo doesn't have masking the same way as Clip or Photoshop, so this gets me the same result! Not only that, but I can stream Leonardo work even if I am using the transparent window function for inking!

I'm pretty hyped about it, as you can see.

Oh lord I almost uploaded the NSFW thing I did yesterday here, jeez!

I didn't manage to attract any commission work today, so I visited some of my friends who run a stream/show called The Meta Quest. I tend to try to avoid talking aloud in streams, and even more so try to avoid joking around with folks, but I did so anyway against my better judgement. It was an enjoyable time!

I also somehow lost my Bluetooth headphones. Dang. Onward...

I ended up pushing myself entirely too hard. Tried to take more of a break. Did not complete any hand inks today, and only got 22 feet complete. Onward...

I am incredibly tired today but got some things done at the very least. Onward...

Hearing about people putting effort into things out of love gives me strength. It's always refreshing in this climate of people tearing one another down all the time. Onward...

I really wanted to bust out the maximum of what I do for training for this post - 100 hands, 100 feet, 100 figures, some illustrations, the works. I ended up burnt out and unable to produce even twenty figures today. I only did 20 feet studies as well. I guess there's always tomorrow. Onward...

I typically try to only upload figure drawing in groups of 20, but the hand and feet work I did today left my hands cramped and tired. I may be holding my brush at a strange angle lately. Onward...

Most of today's work was done traditionally, on screen. I have some screenshots that I shall post, but I have inked some of these by now (poorly at that). Onward...

I focused mostly on ink hand and foot studies today. Onward...

I've been doing better at getting my 100 hands and feet done lately! I recently switched from my G-nib to a spoon nib in my nib holder and it feels really nice and smooth. Best of all, the nib holds more ink for longer! Onward...

Most of today's work is on paper. Onward...
