Finally sat down and made a logo for my NSFW blog/twitter. My anatomy skill still isn't where I'd like it to be and I don't tend to have much in the way of ideas, but it can be a decent way to get work from time to time. Onward...
The bulk of today's work was done traditionally, live on stream. Since I haven't got any commissions, I've been working on more assets for stream campaigns, including my Traditional Commission Stream, complete with Logo and layout. I still need to do some iteration on it, but eventually I'll make a fully complete version with marker and ink! Onward...
I struggled a lot with today's illustration and just kinda in general. I may have pushed myself too far this week, but the show must go... Onward...
Ha, looks like another 100 figures two days in a row is out of the question for me for now. At least until I can raise enough cash to get my dang computer replaced!
I learned a new technique for approaching colored work in Leonardo today! In order to keep shading quick, I lay down my flats after making lines. I take my flats layer and duplicate it, adjusting the color to create my shadows. I then make a new layer under the shadow layer and make the shadow layer a clipping mask - then I can draw in my shadows where I want them. Leonardo doesn't have masking the same way as Clip or Photoshop, so this gets me the same result! Not only that, but I can stream Leonardo work even if I am using the transparent window function for inking!
I'm pretty hyped about it, as you can see.
Onward...
I broke my Surface. Gonna try to do stream commissions to finally replace it, for however long it takes for that to happen. Onward...
Most of today's work has been on paper, as usual this week. Illustrator still acts strangely, ignoring multitouch gestures from time to time, making it near unusable for me. Otherwise, I did a demonstration of facial structure over an image an artist did on twitter to show Penbee today! I won't post it anywhere since it was for demonstration purposes only and I don't want the artist to think I'm trying to pass off their work as mine! Onward...
Penbee and I drew silly pictures of a Nun and Dracula couple to amuse, delight and cheer ourselves up! I ended up needing to take a more subtractive approach to shading and coloring this - I made this in Leonardo, which does not have a flood fill, magic wand or channel selection tool. Onward...
I spent today doing Artist tile sized Bust commissions. I am lucky I managed to get my new camera system in place before my Surface broke. I will be running this commission drive until I am able to afford its replacement! Onward...
My Surface is broken for the last time. My warranty is out, so I gotta do commission drives until I can replace the thing!
Spent today training for a possible job position. I also doodled pictures of Penbee's character, Hilda.
Burnt out. Doodled old enemy designs from a long dead project to cheer myself up. I ended up causing my giant 8 pound sketchbook to fall and hit me on the nose while I was sleeping - a rude awakening that thankfully did not break anything, but it sure is sore!
I have a lot of drawings I haven't been able to upload here due to time constraints and general tomfoolery I've had to deal with, including a bunch of dumb background tests I've been doing every day for a bit. Once things clear up, I will be able to restore those uploads. I'm going to stream tomorrow for as long as I can for commissions, so join me on Picarto tomorrow! I'll upload the rest of what I've done today in a bit.
Working live now. Watch me on Picarto! Uploading things as I finish them.
