The year is 2433. Humanity has spread to many distant planets and encountered new and terrifying life forms. Earth has been left behind as a polluted bureaucratic mess, Covered in claustrophobic cities with smog so thick to blocks out the sun and cast entire cities in a state of permanent night.

You work with laser precision, your objective always clear, you are so efficient there almost isn't anything you haven't uncovered. You achieve this machine like efficiency because you are in fact a machine, built to sniff out any inconsistencies and any lie. It comes as a surprise to you then that when you start doing a little too well at the job you were programmed to do that your existence becomes a lot more complicated.

Space travel is a dangerous job.

It's been much the same story for years - some craft is sent from Earth into space, and is occupied by aliens. A bloody battle ensues from this intrusion between the aliens and defenders, and lives are lost on both sides. Whatever the result, it's not front page news among spacedwellers. It's an everyday occurrence, in this line of work. But it's another thing to actually be there, to hear the screaming and see your brethren fall to the savage flashes of the aliens on both sides. When the carnage stills and you're the last left breathing among the fallen, crawling and hiding away for your miserable life, how long will it be before your own story comes to an end?

You are an infant member of your kind, a proud race of spacedwellers - beings that these so-called humans would call "aliens". For eons you've defended your system while keeping observations on nearby life. Your kind once had a destructive and militant past, but that was many sweeps ago. Now, the humans rise to begin the same phase, sending ship after ship into nearby systems and slowly choking them of resources until they're conquered through politics and repossession. Negotiations have failed, and your kind has had little choice but to take up arms once more and intercept invading ships. You yourself are too young to be a militant, but your pod-brethren have all been sent on the most recent excursion and, overexcited, you stowed away with them.

But what you saw aboard that ship didn't fit the theory. Armed with new pulse-tech weaponry, the humans slaughtered your kind left and right, all while screaming that hateful phrase: "Alien!" Now, trapped aboard the ship inside its fuselage with a dozen high-alert humans all around you, you have two choices as you navigate the ship, trying to remain unseen and avoid the hazards that come with crawling through ship exhaust. Send a distress signal from a fallen ally and survive until help arrives, or take a vow of revenge and dedicate the rest of your lifespan to eradicating these human aliens one by one until none remain.

In Halt! you get to play a typical couch multiplayer competitive game... however, you play it in an entirely atypical fashion. See each of you are knights, time-knights to be precise, and in between weaving your blocks, rolls and attacks, you also have the power to freeze time. All of it. So next time you expect the enemy to attack, you can entirely negate what that player is inputting by simply pausing time for a moment, and then un-pausing it straight after. Just think of their face as you blink the time off and on and their attack just doesn't even register. Their dumb, mute character just staring blankly outwards. Bad luck Player 2! Better luck next time getting a slightly less brain-dead avatar! But not to worry, because every player can pause and un-pause time; regardless of whether or not they started the pause in the first place. Get ready to get inside your opponents' heads and learn to predict their moves, because if you don't you'll be left standing there like a newborn duckling as their swords come slicing down for the kill. Naturally this is when said duckling uses all it's savvy genetic prowess to roll, launch an attack, then pause long enough to confuse the enemy's inputted block so that your attack lands squarely across their face. Who knew ducklings had such skill?

Game Features:

  • Pause and un-pause time to wreak havoc when those pesky opponents try and input any control!
  • Single-hit kill side-scrolling platformer
  • Blocking, dodging, double jumping, wall-jumping, and finally, multiple angles of attack (they'll never see you coming!)
  • 2-4 player local/internet multiplayer (AI just won't be fun for this, I promise)
Unique Selling Points:
  • Remember that one friend who always paused the game to screw you over? Yup. That guy sucked. This game is that guy a million fold.
  • Halting input as a mechanic is an interesting angle of approach that has never really been fully developed in a game (maybe it was too un-fun?)

This is a game for six players, five of them are thrown into an arena, but before that each player must choose a role from the following:

-Dps

-Tank

-Healer

After everyone has chosen wisely the gates will open, once inside the arena these five players will have to fight 50 waves of enemies and a boss battle every 10 waves, each cleared wave will give them gold and experience in proportion to how many enemies they killed, how much healing they did or how much damage they took also there is a two minutes break after every five waves, during this time a special room will open where the players can buy items and potions for their characters. If one of the teammates dies during a wave or a boss battle, they cannot be resurrected until the wave is cleared or all the members of the party are dead, in such case they will have to start again that wave.

You might be wondering what happened to the sixth player, well the sixth player is the one that will send the waves of monsters and unleash the bosses every 10 waves, this player will have a wide variety of monsters to choose from, all ordered from lvl 1 to 50 also this player will be able to choose what skills and abilities the bosses will have and even be able to manipulate them during the boss fights, however they won't be able to play with the monsters, what they can do though is trigger terrain effects inside the arena that will complicate the fights if they see it's too easy for the other five players. The one player that will send the waves and the bosses will be chosen randomly before the game starts.

This game will be only available for pc.

In DoLegion you are a survivor in the biblical apocalypse, most of the people on the planet have been possessed by demons.

You objective in the game is to find and make your way to a safe haven where the demons are not able to possess humans. While traveling to this safe haven you must avoid roving bands of possessed humans all of which wish to kill you due to your lack of possession. To fend them off you are able to use traditional guns to attempt to do sufficient damage to the bodies to stop them or you may try to use items such as holy water and other religious paraphernalia to remove the demon and save the human being possessed.

The progression of the game would be fairly linear with each map area linking on to the next in progression with the story.

Basic crafting will be implemented to allow players make some of the items that they will be using so that they do not run out as most resources will be scarce through out the game.

Kraken is a First Person Survival Horror Game, set in an Underwater Research Station, known as Kraken Base. You play an unnamed scientist, who wakes up inside the dormitories after apparently having been knocked out. The area is completely disserted, with only red emergency lighting to greet you. A voice comes over on the loudspeaker, identifying itself as Eugenie Clark, Head Marine Biologist. Something has entered the base and either captured or killed most of the personnel, there are leaks in several sections, with full site submergence expected in 12 hours, and there is only 1 working Submarine left. The Leviathan and Serpent Bases have gone dark. No help is coming. Your goal is to try and make your way to said submarine, while avoiding the 'things' that have invaded, rescuing survivors, and attempting to drain vital sections of the Base. Technically, the entire base can be navigated through, except there are many doors that were locked down during the switch to emergency power, and sections of the base that need a P.E.S. (Pressurized External Suit) to navigate, due to flooding. You will find yourself running all over, as you attempt to keep water levels down, to stop generators from shorting out, to allow you to pass through security doors, to finally get to the Submarine with your motley crew of Survivors. Assuming you don't get eaten first. Can you survive the Kraken?

I've recently started a new playthrough of Dark Souls, and have been doing a lot of low-poly research and modelling for one of our uni projects, and these two things have had an epic child in my brain.

My low-poly research has brought up a lot of my old childhood heroes, such as Crash Bandicoot, Jak and Daxter and Spyro the dragon. I have a new-found love for low-poly 3D modelling, and this coupled with nostalgia and Dark Souls has given me an idea for a game.

Essentially, this game would combine my favourite aspects from Dark Souls, with my favourite aspects from 90's platforming games.

Recently I saw a kickstarter for a game called Yooka-Laylee. It's a 90's throwback platformer, with really beautiful, simple graphics, and really smooth controls. I'd love to make an homage to platformers, by breathing new life into them. I believe that the combat from Darksouls together with the 3D environments and movement from platforming games would make a killer combo. I always loved the way that 3D platformers really made you explore the 3D space you were in, often emphasizing verticality. This platforming movement would breed some really awesome boss encounters if coupled with the punishing combat systems from darksouls.

This is just a rough idea, but one I will entertain for a while as I flesh it out more.

A fun rhythm game!

It's currently 10pm and you still have overdue papers for the morning. You are getting drowsy but the papers are due in tomorrow morning at 8. "It's fine I have like, 10 more hours to get this done" you think to yourself. Oh boy, what a sad thought that is. You had many weeks in advance to hand this assignment in and you had put it off because you had 2 months to do it prior. It's only a multi choice paper that's 200 questions long. You decide to Yolo it and just listen to music to feel out the multi-question answers. When the music plays where you click the arrows to choose A,B,C or D and you will colour them in. Some short answer questions you won't even bother detailing so you draw pictures but you can only have 4 beats to draw these pictures. You will only need to trace as the music will tell you what to draw.

In this game you play as an ant collecting as much food as he can before winter sets in. You have been assigned to collect from tree tops and to bring what you find back to the nest as fast as you can, and the fastest way to carry it back? to ride the falling leaves of course!

Each level is split into to sections, the first in which you must find and collect anything of value to the nest from the tree you are in, and the second where you have to pilot your falling leaf to land safely back on the ground so you can deliver your haul. There is a minimum quota for each level that must be fulfilled to ensure the colony has what it needs for the winter, but otherwise it is entirely up to the player what they decide to gather on each level, as it will effect how they can maneuver their leaf. To control the leaf as it falls players must arrange the supplies they gathered around the leaf to control how the leaf will fall, having all the weight gathered in one spot will make the leaf fall fast and straight, while having it spread out around the edges holds the leaf open to create more drag, slowing the leaf but making it float back and forth. Having your supplies to close to the edges however runs the risk of them falling off. each drop is effected by things such as the wind, the weather and the type of leaf you are riding on.

It's spooky horror game that we play as a pet dog. A very paranoid dog. He sees everyday life as a living nightmare, where mailman becomes a monster that comes to the house everyday giving suspicious letters, maids become a scary monster lady that messes the house.

Survive day to day life without going insane in your own home, and "protect" your master from harm. You'll play in a dog perspective with their color visions.

There will be multiple endings to this game where the owner thought of giving you away or actually try to help you. This will be determined on how you play as the dog and in the last few level where you play as the owner, "replaying" the levels in the human eyes seeing that there is something is wrong with the dog.

The art style of the game will be a mixture of low poly and high poly 3D. When playing the dog things are low poly and not so color, since it'll be in dog's color vision. While playing as the human things will be high poly and more colorful to give a different vibe and feel than the dog's view.

Hunter is a first person stealth game where you play as a failed lab experiment conducted by non other than the US Military Science Lab place. You were created as a means of "national defence" although we all know that 11 times out of 8 anyone who says that is clearly lying. The game starts off with the player still inside the military science R&D facility inside an army base and your job is to escape the army base and find the people who are responsible for your creation. Some perks to being this hideously twisted and deformed freak include: Active camouflage, ability to shape shift, no fall damage, and 999x boosted senses. Once the player has escaped the army base they will have to use their senses to find out where people involved in the mutation are located. From there they can interrogate and kill their target and get closer to finding the people in charge of the mutation.

Math Blaster

Math Blaster is a learning game aimed at children under 10. Video games are a powerful medium to convey information to people and I believe that using developing fun and engaging education video games would change the face of education.

In Math Blaster you play as a young boy or girl who adventuring the school grounds. In this world each child is armed with a "number gun" (think air cannon that shoots numbers/equations) To start with you are confronted by the school bully who demands you give him your lunch money. As a way of forcing you to give over the money he starts blasting you with equations that have an actual force behind them because of the air cannon. The idea is simple, you shoot the answers to his equations back at him and he is pushed back by the resulting force. Shoot enough correct answers at him and he is defeated and the player gains points.

The way this game is fun and engaging is by making it multiplayer. Players can challenge each other to duels where they "fight" with equations. The way a challenge would work is players can shoot equations at each other that the opponent will have to answer. In order to upgrade your number gun to shoot more complex equations (multiplication, division) the player would have to complete tests on those subjects.

Using this system would motivate children to learn advanced equations in order to use them on their friends. The head to head challenge would promote fast thinking and competition among the students.

Inspired by the story of Lonesome George. George passed away in 2012 and in his last few years was known as the rarest creature in the world, he was believed to be the last of a subspecies of Galápagos tortoise.

In SHELL, the player will take control of the last living tortoise and navigate through a vast range of random environments committing to an adventure to find another tortoise (spoilers: there aren't any others). Similar aesthetic to Journey (PS3), Shelter (PC) and Ori and the Blind Forest (PC/Xbox One), pleasant colour palettes and seemingly simple character design contrasted by powerful, atmospheric environments.

Purpose:

Immerse the player into a visual experience ranging from the spirit of adventure to eternal solitude. Upon the way varying dangers will present themselves, from dangerous terrain (mudslides, quicksand, precarious rock formations) to aggressive predators. As the player you can do two things, direct movement (turn and "sprint") and hide in your shell. Along the way the tortoise will occasionally stumble upon strange formations that represent the silhouette of a tortoise, when this happens the player controls will be temporarily disabled and cause the tortoise to interact with the objects.

Mechanics:

  • Constant slow movement pace, although player can temporarily increase speed by "sprinting" (which is a slightly faster walking pace) and can alter the moving direction.
  • In regards to hiding in your shell, the tortoise can protect itself from certain danger, but in turn is restricted by a close barrier of fog to represent the tortoise's vision, however ripples representing noise can appear in the fog - implying danger still lurks nearby.
  • Presented as a glorified walking simulator with some interaction, as it is primarily meant as a visual experience – main game inspiration being Journey.

Features:

  • 3rd Person "walking simulator"
  • Immersive and elegant art style
  • Dynamic soundtrack, switching between adventure and danger.
  • Customisable tortoise name
  • Potential for procedural generation
  • Raise awareness for animal conservation
Intended for PC, Xbox One and Play Station 4.

Main inspirations: Journey, Shelter, Shelter 2 and Ori and the Blind Forest.
