Forest Combat

Deep in the Canadian woods there are two heroes who have been locked in immortal combat for as long as time can remember... The greatest lumberjack ever known to man, Lumberjack "The Jack" Jack, and a mysterious Greenpeace hippie known only as "The Bear". In this fast paced, 2D competitive platformer game you can play either a single player game as either the Lumberjack or the Bear. Two people can play head to head and play as one character each.

Two win a round each player must complete his objective. The Lumberjack must use his supreme tree chopping skills to level each ancient tree on the level and the Bear must destroy all of the lumber camp towers. The lumber jack can lay traps and use tree harvesting tools/explosives to complete his objective while The Bear can use his extensive knowledge of the martial arts, mother nature, and his 420 magic. If all of the trees are killed then Lumberjack "The Jack" Jack has won but if the lumber camp towers are destroyed then The Bear has won.

There will be multiple maps with different numbers of ancient trees and lumber towers, as well as a choose the season option. This will add a different effect to each map. e.g Winter will freeze over rivers, Autumn will have gusty winds etc...

Below is what part of a level may look like in summer.

You are in a tiny island with other nine people and there is only one palm tree at the middle, every player have two abilities only, the first one is the ability to launch coconuts at other players stunning them for a short period, the other is a grappling hook that you can use to attach to the palm tree but it can only be used when the tide starts growing, this happens every minute but each time it will cover more portion of the palm tree, so eventually there will be room only for one player to attach to the palm tree and that will be the end of the round. This is a game that will be available for pc and tablets, and it will also include variations to the terrain, like instead of water it can be lava, or instead of a palm tree there will be a tower, but the mechanics will remain the same.

In this world, there are creatures that coexist among the cities of humans. Creatures invisible to the eye, but there nonetheless. You are a Shadowling, a harmless creature of shade that feeds off traces left behind by the human spirit. You can only exist inside shadows, but recently those shadows have been shifting. The castle city you live in is under siege - and as the buildings fall, your habitat disappears piece by piece.

But hope lies in the form of caves hewn into the mountains on the far side of the city - if you can just make it to them, you'll be safe - for now. But there are many dangers in your path. Humans clash in the streets, and their shadows provide the cover you need to dart from alley to alley. If you stand inside a friendly human's shadow, their strength will be bolstered - but should they fall, your source of cover will be gone and your essence will begin vanishing rapidly should you be exposed to light for any length of time. If a friendly human falls, you may still sometimes use the hostile's shadow to cross, but as the defenses of the city weaken the buildings will start to come down faster, shrinking your opportunities.

Other sources of cover may come and go, presenting themselves and giving you chances to make a break for the next shelter before yours collapses, but risks abound and every step may be your last.

This is not your fight. But what will you do when it begins?

This idea isn't so much a fully-fledged game, but more of a mechanic geared towards an RTS style game, such as Age of Empires (I can imagine this mechanic being the core gameplay mechanic of a race in Age of Empires III).

Essentially, the mechanic is this:

Instead of buying a unit for 100 wood, 100 food and 100 gold, you buy the unit for 100 wood and 100 food. The gold payment comes later, in a manner reminiscent of Warcraft III's 'upkeep' system. You keep the up front gold, but every 5 minutes in-game time (subject to change), you have pay each of your units a salary.

Coupled with this would be the fact that as a unit fights and survives, they level up and become stronger. Instead of paying for a flat increase and upgrade for a unit (i.e, Militia to Men-At-Arms), your Militia unit would fight and survive a few skirmishes, and using the gold he's been paid (so leveling up slowly over time with accumulated gold) and using the skills he's learned through combat (immediate and extreme experience gains) he would be able to buy better gear and use it more efficiently. So there would be an incentive to not throw your unites lives away, and players would have to focus on micro-management more in order to keep men alive long enough to become formidable. As units become stronger, however, they also become more expensive to pay. This means that if you suddenly lack gold (due to an enemy attack on your supply-line, perhaps) some of your men might desert. This means fortifying resources would be more important. The additional cost-over-time of your experienced units would also mean that having them sit idly in your base would be extremely taxing on your economy for little to no gain to your overall play. The salary system would heavily encourage players to keep expensive units in the field, so as to get the absolute most out of them, and would promote more aggressive play, while also promoting more thoughtful and tactical play, in order to keep them alive.

All of this makes the mechanic sound like it would make a game quite hard, and if you lost a battle mid-late game, you'd be at a serious disadvantage to your enemy, as you'd have to replace your veteran troops with fresh recruits. This isn't untrue, but in order to combat this seemingly unfair disadvantage, there'd be one more useful outcome from this mechanic. Maybe using a 'morale' mechanic, veteran troops placed in command of fresh troops would increase the overall effectiveness and experience gain of the new recruits. I imagine that if you could zoom-in to the fresh soldiers in the game, fresh troops out of the field would be constantly looking around, nervous and edgy, and would panic easily, but if they had a veteran to lead them, they'd be a more brave and coherent team. Back in the safety of your base, unadvised they'd visit brothels and taverns and get drunk and party due to their lack of discipline, meaning a sudden attack from the enemy would leave you severely disadvantaged without veterans to keep your recruits in line. Suddenly bolstering your army with new recruits led by veterans would make your fresh troops drastically better, and would also relieve tension on your economy.

The last part would be more traditional units. All of the units mentioned earlier would be combat professionals; working class soldiers that make a living off of their services to lords in wars. But there would also be units that cost a lump sum (a hefty fee) but that are instantly veteran soldiers, and would be your factions 'special unit'. For example, being the British (or other European nations) you may have access to Knights. Historically, knights are higher echelon soldiers who are politically more important. You have to be born in the right family to have the opportunity to be a knight. This means, that practically a knight would bring all of his own gear and training to the battle field, and for a large sum he would fight for you. As the Japanese you would get Samurai, as the Chinese you would get Mandarins, for example). This means that if your economy is strong, then even after heavy defeat you could offset your damaged armies and bolster them with instantly top-tier soldiers.

No propulsion, and only on downhill maps will you even make it off the start line. At the end of it all, you can sell Carts that have garnered a lot of wins, for special parts. The idea of this game is that there are 2 players who use voice chat to shout at their opponent. These 2 opponents will face each other in an area and as they shout at each other in voice chat the words they say will form physical objects in the shape of the words that have been said. Player's must jump over/through and not get hit by the other player oncoming words while also shouting back at the player. The games will consist of rounds, each round the shouted words will travel slowly in the beginning but will increase speed as the round progresses. Player must also be clear as to what they are shout e.g. (it must be something coherent/in the dictionary). Each round a certain word category restriction will be put in place for example fruits, country, movie title and much more!) And of course violently swearing and cursing at the other player is completely fair game so feel free to lay down as many sick burns as possible while dodging the sick burns coming from the other player!

A base building survival game. Aliens have invaded and destroyed most civilization on Earth. Humanity now only survives in small groups scatter throughout the world. The aliens armada has moved on to find new conquests and have left drones to clean up the remaining humans and prepare the planet for their colony fleet. It is up to you to survive and learn as much as you can about the aliens technology to save humanity.

Matches can last from 15 min - 30 min depending on which game type the player chooses. Players all spawn together on a randomly generated map based on a ruined city. They will then have to survive as the aliens send waves of drones to the middle of the map to hunt them down. Drones move slower than people but have a lot of health and will capture a human as soon as they can catch up to them. Humans have low health and attack, but can use the wreckage of the city to build walls and buildings. drones will always chase the closest human so long as there is a path to get to them, but as soon as they are blocked off they will destroy anything in their way. They way for the humans to survive is to build mazes to slow down the drones and use teamwork to keep them occupied. Eventually when they have got enough scraps from the city humans will be able to build towers and defenses as well as walls. When a human is captured they are sent to the middle of the map, to be transported after the drones have won, the player loses when all humans have been captured and wins when they survive for the time limit. Players can also free other humans that have been captured to going to the middle of the map where the drones spawn, but the will get extra resources and free all the prisoners for risking it.

This is a tower defense type of game for PC and mobile devices.

The idea behind this is that there are good plants and flowers that you would like to see in your garden, and there is weed that tries to capture it and expand its territory. You plant your defensive flowers and bushes in strategic places to defend against the onslaught of weed. There will be a total of over 10 different plants including roses, camomile, violets, lavender, hydrangea, sage plant and others. And there will also be all kinds of enemies, including weed and several types of bugs and flies.

There will be several different levels with their own layouts around random houses. The enemy will try to capture the backyard tile by tile going from the edges of the yard and heading for the house. This means that there will be no fixed paths for the enemy to take, so you have to take into account the strategic advantage of the terrain layout to protect your turf.

This is a virtual reality game were the player has been gifted land to build for his people.

To start the player will be given a series of trivial questions to determine their type of mana, what type of land they will be building on ( rugged terrain, flat lands, mountains, river beds ). first they must build their Wharenui (large house).

To do this the player must think of their physical life and who in it they hold importance and to envision those people throughout this process, grandparents, ancestors, family, friends and then it would make more sense.

For each of the following steps the player will be given the choice of the outline based on meanings to choose from and from their they can create it how they would like to using colors and different designs.

First the player will design, gather wood and carve their Tekoteko ( ancestor that sits on the top of the roof ) that represents a chief or ancestor, it represents someone of some importance in the players life.

Next the player will design gather wood and carve their Kooruru (the face of the ancestor that sits just below the Tekoteko).

Once this has been done the player has to create the Maihi (the arms of the ancestor welcoming all those that stand before it, these tell the stories of the iwi and their ancestors.

Next is the Amo (the ancestors legs holding firm to the ground ), these are usually full figured carvings representing people or descendants whom are linked to that house or people who played an important part of their iwi.

The Raparapa represents the ancestors fingers, their reach out from the ends of the Maihi. the fingers are always open to embrace those that enter the Marae area.

Once this is done the building is complete then the player will be able to collect food by hunting or looking around shrubs, growing kumara, bargaining with other tribes.

You would be able to build a Pataka (old store house that stood on a tall pole to hold food so that it was safe from pests and rodents) then eventually as time goes and the players whanau grows they can build a Wharekai to the left or right of the Wharenui.

The eventually the player will have to have warriors to protect their land from invasion and to protect their people.

Every now and then they will have armed forces come trolling through and you have to try and get the faith of your people back by rebuilding what you had even if it means bargaining off some of your iwi's supplies in order to get others).

There will be quest's given to the player to keep them on a generalized line of play but other than that they are free to create their own Marae.

Spaceship Confederation

Following the success of the popular car football game, Rocket League and taking its core idea of vehicle plus football comes Spaceship Confederation. Instead of using cars to knock balls into goals, you take control of a spaceship and you will have to blast the ball into to goal. You will have a magnet on top of your spaceship which will make the ball stick to the top of your spaceship whenever you go near it. However, you cannot keep the ball on top of your spaceship for too long as its strength will run out and then it will need time to recharge. Also in space, the ball does not really have much momentum, thus your main method of transporting the ball is by aiming and shooting the ball. This will also promote ball passing among teammates instead of dribbling the ball solo.

Another big thing is that this game is not played on the field but in space. This adds another dimension to this game as you will have to travel in both vertical and horizontal directions. Alongside that, spaceships will have the standard boosts to help them traverse the space and also warp abilities that allows them to flash forward and cover a short distance instantaneously.

This is a different game than the fast-paced car football as in this game you will want to take time to aim your shots and that will be its biggest selling point.

Literal Beats is a unique rhythm based 2d side scrolling beat-em-up for consoles and PC.

The game graphically will take inspiration from the game "Double Dragon", is set in a sprawling urban city and involves beating hordes of street thugs.

Gameplay wise it shall do as one should expect from any other beat-em-up with all but one single mechanic. The player and every other entity within the games world can only move (this includes all animations) and attack to the beat of the in game music.

The beat of the music shall be communicated to the player obviously through audio, however more precisely through a heartbeat/heartrate monitor at the bottom of the screen with the line passing over a symbol of a beating heart. The line fluctuates/peaks to the beat of the music and the player must time their movements accordingly. The player is able to move out of time, but this constitutes as their heart essentially skipping a beat and they will lose health.

To compensate for this mechanic, fewer enemies that perhaps the amount seen in other beat-em-ups shall appear at any given time.

The games music shall be inspired by the likes of glitchhop and chiptunes to follow along with the aesthetic but to keep the game feeling modern. Naturally as the game gets harder, or more enemies appear on screen, the music shall change or shift to a faster beat to allow more and faster attacks. Of course naturally this allows all opponents to move and attack faster too, which the player must account for.

In addition to the above, should the player enter an uninterrupted combo, the music will also get exponentially faster allowing the player, should they have the skill, to increase the combo to the point the combo is too difficult to maintain.

This game is inspired by a game called Scannerz, where you would scan barcodes and get monsters to fight other people with. In a similar fashion, players would use their phones to capture photos of everyday things, selfies included which would then reward them with a unit relating to their photo.

As an example, if a player were to take a photo of a dog, they would be rewarded with a beast or animal unit. The player could then use that unit to defend or attack their base that they build in conjunction with the pictures they take. Meaning players cannot build say a bestiary until a photo of at least an animal has been taken.

The game will take a similar format to other base building/war games on the phone format such as clash of clans. Players will build their based using some generic buildings/defences then unlock new units/buildings when they take pictures of things

This game is a 1 v 1 arena game. Your main objective is a simple one and that is to kill your opponent before they kill you. I call it a main objective only because it's not the only way to win a match. There is more than one way to win the fight, these include death by natural disaster, death by seppuku, surrender and passing the time limit. Passing the time limit will count as a draw so you do not gain anything from it, the good part of it is that you won't lose anything either.

The game's environment system randomly chooses different terrain for you to fight on. This terrain is different with each fight. These maps will offer their different challenges to put your character to the test. One map might have increased gravity, another might be inside a volcano and another might be inside a volcano with increased gravity. All of it will need the player to face it with an open mind.

As you win you gain points. these win points can be used to upgrade your character in different ways to prepare for different challenges. An example would be adding points to fire resistance so that any fire stages would slowly chip at your hp as the battle goes on, or ice resistance so you don't freeze in an ice field. The higher rank you are the more intense the stages get. Any armour or weapons you use will be all cosmetic meaning all your stats are decided by the points system, this will mean you have to choose the right build for yourself to ensure that you will win. Every Time you lose you lose some of your exp and a couple of points will be randomly taken off your character's attributes. You will have to be flexible and ready to change your playstyle at all times, you will be changing your build all the time.

Ever had the opportunity to experience everyday activities when one leg occasionally refuses to work? Attempt tasks such as catching the bus on time or walking up stairs while taking care not to over stress your leg. If you do... Having your kneecap shift in and out of place is particularly annoying in real life, and would end the level. Gameplay mechanics would be timing and following visual cues to avoid over stressing the kneel. Pickups such as a knee brace or painkillers could reduce the stress on the knee

Vertical scroller game where the player plays as a squid. The aim of this game is to have the squid survive as long as the player can. At the bottom of the screen, there will be a shark mouth trying to catch the squid. The shark's mouth will appear but it varies, it could be on the middle, or on the left and right corner. The controls of this game would be left and right but the squid will constantly go down. The player may control the pump of the squid to go up, but the squid will not respond very fast (in this game the squid is slow). There will be also obstacles coming from the top of the screen. Hooks from the fishermen that the squid has to avoid. The squid will also encounter some corals along the sides walls making it difficult for it to manoeuvre smoothly.
