It's going to take a lot of work before I can get this typeface anywhere that looks good. I'm not an expert at making fonts, but it has been a nice way to try to study letterforms. Even with the assistance of the puppet warp tool, I still have a lot of decisions to make with the design. I should probably just make a bunch of kerning pairs and see what works in the most contexts so I can make this typeface less awkward when it is done. Onward...

Went out to a coffee shop to tackle this blasted Filthwater Crab Illustration once and for all. I was feeling pretty bad about it but managed to reuse the guidelines I plotted for the port hole and other technical details without having to plot the ellipse perspectives again. In general spent today trying to recalibrate my routine and get back on the horse for figure drawing at least. Onward...

Watched a bunch of terrible movies with Penbee, including a straight up bizarre Aladdin adaptation. Worked on 3D models and other stuff. Onward...

I tried to sit down and finally learn the basics of modeling in Blender to help deal with my burnout, and I did a reasonable job of it. I built this model of Apparition today and intend to build more models for reference and to dust off my old modeling knowledge from back in like 2008 or so when I was first using Maya. I also finally got my little Huion tablet delivered-- it is... strange. I haven't used a pen tablet like this since I was a little boy. It is taking some getting used to, but I will be needing this for when my main computer acts up. At least until I can replace my Surface with commission work or something.

I didnt get much done today. Was navigator for my dad and the GPS led us on a wacky adventure through the mountains in the King of Prussia area. By wacky and adventure I mean infuriating and waste of time. We were not pleased when the GPS led us to a highway that was, yes, technically located behind the Costco, but completely inaccessible without multiple 10 and 20 mile rigamarole, This was the least productive training day and I'm quite miffed about it. Ah well, I tweaked this turnaround I'm doing to make a model with at least. Onward...

Trying to figure out how to construct Apparition in 3D. Need to make refs of all my characters, and hopefully 3D models! Onward...

The bulk of today's work was done traditionally, live on stream. Since I haven't got any commissions, I've been working on more assets for stream campaigns, including my Traditional Commission Stream, complete with Logo and layout. I still need to do some iteration on it, but eventually I'll make a fully complete version with marker and ink! Onward...

I struggled a lot with today's illustration and just kinda in general. I may have pushed myself too far this week, but the show must go... Onward...

I streamed all day today. All of the stuff I drew is unfinished or utterly unpostable. Ha!

I need to take my InDesign expert exam again in two weeks.

Beyond my hand and foot studies, I worked on some pixel art I need to get done.

I got a bunch done today -- a lot of it was streamed during the later part of the night. I started doodling an idea I had to explain how HTML, CSS and JavaScript work together - I imagined them as three musketeers - the beefy one is HTML, providing the structure of the document, the thin dude is JavaScript, their tactician that dictates their behavior and the little guy is CSS, making sure they look good while they do it all.

I've been tired lately, but still trying to be diligent about my art.

I worked on some exploratory sketching for the first character I'd like to animate walking at some point in my Weekly Walk Cycle streak. My recent studies have been a great help, even making my turnarounds easier to handle!

Spent today working on pixel art at a friend's house during a google hangout he invited me to with one of his art buddies. I spent most of today shoveling and salting the ground...

I worked on some character designs for a short game I'll be making for the next little while today. It's about a princess who has to save her family from jerks and bad guys!
