Sorry - been away to Iceland. this was an early techno track i finished and remastered. Its not great but has a kinda old skool' vibe to it.
Didn't really get this to where I wanted to but it was fun and I'm out of time. Cheers
Sorry for "cheating" three weeks in a row by uploading One Hour Compo songs. I've had some busy weekends (seminars, traveling) and haven't really devoted a lot of Me time to music lately.
The theme was a creepy, misty forest (https://compo.thasauce.net/files/materials/OHC576_OHC_576_1.jpg) so I decided to create something that resembled a creepy 80s synthesizer movie soundtrack. In this song, I used the Alesis Andromeda A6 and the Nord Rack 2x for all of the sounds (I didn't have my Analog 4 in the same room at the time, too bad!), along with effects from VSTs (Eventide Quadravox, Valhalla Shimmer, SoundToys EchoBoy, SoundToys Devil-Loc Deluxe, SoundToys Radiator, iZotope Neutron 2) on individual tracks, and iZotope Ozone Elements 8 on the master track.
Next week, I think I will dig deeper with musical expression.
This week's track, done in a few quick passes...and with a day-long pause while the laptop was in the shop.
I had four Drum Rack lines (Kit Carbon, two Muttkaste, Altered Kit), three of which were severely filtered, one of which boosted (one of the Muttkaste). There's also Electric and Vibes, two Res-O-Glas (different Auto-Filter settings), and Epiphone P-J bass (EQ-8). Putting it together...my sense of the "one" kept shifting, so there's a weird floating feeling to this one. I kept needing to cut parts that got cluttered.
Sends: two echo returns, one convolution reverb.
Title from the crystalline structure of Americium, this week's element.
I "finished" an old project this week because I am trying to get used to my new monitors by mostly mixing and listening to things.
This is kind of hiphop or something I don't know. The song itself does not make a lot of sense (or maybe I just spent too much time on it and now I can't see the point).
Will never get the hang of subtle mastering, sorry.
Don't know why I typed 150 into tempo field when I started this track, but I like the energetic result. Usually I go for much calmer type of music.
I still don't know whether I like melodies and arps at the second half or not, was going to make it less sugary pentatonic and more dark and emotional, but didn't manage to.
