did one of those bokeh down a corridor type shots, its kinda not a whole lot of anything here so i just fucked around and blasted the colors.
shot with the nikkor-p 105mm f/2.5, awesome lens
i think to get the effect i was going for better id need more stuff further back to be bright, and i should be crouched down close to the ground so that i can focus closer and get more bokeh (i was focused to a decent number of feet ahead of me cuz when standing up at closest focus, nothing in the shot is in focus at all and i wanted just thin plane of focus at the front)
in the span of 7 days I photo'd a rave, a noise show, then helped a friend tour, driving 5 hours there, photod that show, now im home and editing all my shots for that rave cuz I told em I'd be done this weekend hehe.
here's another out of focus type shot, but a different vibe from the last
i got an autofocus lens to make my life on the job easier, the nikon 35mm f/2D.
I'd say like, 10-20% of the time the autofocus noticeably failed, but for the rest of the time it's really made my workflow easier. I can actually shoot at wide apertures and have people in focus! No more guessing my focus in the darkness and no more tight apertures resulting in high ISOs!
In hindsight, I realized I should be shooting with autofocus on shutter disabled and just use the AF button and take over the focus with manual at the soonest sign that the AF was crapping out. This is the theme of my rave assignments, it's 5 hours of grinding photos, I learn a lot fast both during and after the shoot.
Luckily, a few of the times AF failed me turned out to be fun shots, like this one.
Not settled yet on a consistent editing theme for em all so this one is edited pretty neutrally.
i messed with the channel mixer a lot then canceled most of it out with white balance. not really sure what that achieved but the image is bright and colorful
i forgot that i could switch my camera to live view for shots that point at the sun lol
i was at my parents house and my dad told me that the sunshine looked awesome thru the sprinkler but his phone camera just couldn't cut it
this combination of "blur" & color choice gives me strong impressionism vibes, this feels comforting to look at
