One more DnB song to wrap up February.

This is a slightly polished version of the last submission since this weekend I had not enough time and energy to implement thoughts for the new track.

acid!

They've got a lot of nerve to be seen up in the gallery, Ron, right now I tell ya
that horse is sick and starving and encumbered, mon
what if we get a gun, what if we get a gun?
what if we spray the bastards and make off with the rubbery girl?

That painted fella who's bucket was brimming with the piss of a cow
next minute, confetti was all that came raining down
what sort of warlock would dress as if he's mocking the kids?
lets pin that fucker down and slice off his painted eyelids

and show him what we have seen
and show him all the things
show you, show you
then you will have seen it too

The greater show
all shows that came before
weren't fit to feature low on the billing of the show that he saw
let's sing and clap, my friend
let's dance around
lean back and drink your fill
because we're cranking up the merry go round

boo-hoo hoop dee doo

*Sorry, this is awful. I was watching the on cinema oscar special and realised there were a couple of hours left and figured I could probably shit something out.

I shat something out.

I tried to save it at a low bitrate to make it sound more old fashioned but it probably just made it sound shittier.

Good luck!*

A kind of Eurythmics-inspired track that doesn't have quite the same catchy synth lead. I think I need to keep working on this a bit more, you might hear a re-recording next week.

Done live in Eurorack.

Who needs drums! Another dark ambient track, which I'm really quite happy with.

I think it's almost complete. Perhaps a little overlong, but I didn't want to rush it, it's all about mood after all.

I'm coming to realise that the thing I enjoy most about all this is the sound design. Think I'm going to try and get an ep of this stuff done.

Too busy for sound design this week, so this is 100% Roland MT-32 factory sounds, sequenced in Renoise and recorded straight to tape through a BBE Sonic Maximizer (for bass boost only) and a Behringer MDX-2100 compressor.

Maximum use of slap bass.

This week's piece came together kind of organically, from wanting to hear something rhythmic. I put up four percussive voices: Ableton's Acoustified 11 drum rack, a 909 drum rack, an Impulse instrument of hand claps, and a drum rack of Ableton's Ethno Kit. Saturday night I tracked bass (Epi P-J with EQ-8 roll-off below 100Hz) and some old standby MkI2 Crunch Electric (with Around The Head preset Auto-Pan).

Sends: Convolution reverb set to a studio space impulse, and two instances of Echo. Lots of automation in the sends, and full-chain master on the 2-buss.

Title from the fact that my main headphones (AIAIAI-configured) use neodymium (element 60) magnets in the speaker elements.

Ok this time it's chillhop. I had to catch a cold and make all beats 2x slower in order to make this work properly, but here it is.

this went in a different direction than planned, much like life in general this week. i started working on a kinda electro-punk riff but then i got stuck in more of a dressed up happy house groove (i'm a sucker for 303arp sounds).

Fruityloops for sequencing; Drummaxx for the beat, Sytrus and Toxic for pad/arp/synbass, Sakura for strings

dropped into Ableton as is my current norm, but took the time to be less lazy and exported each individual loop from FL which allowed for more play in final arrangement and mix. then a dash of bass/guitar and a freebie handdrum sample and some quick mastering and done.

overall i think i like it :)

Electronic track with some techno influences track but mixed to listen too rather then a straight up dance floor track. Lead is a little cheesy. Didn't have time to make it more electronic.

This originally didn't have a beat, then I dropped the heavy drums in and it took me back to the late-90s.
