the colors on this shot were really good, but i feel the monochrome carries more emotion
i like the slight off-center angle and the general balance of shapes, but the top and bottom bother me. In the uncropped shot i get the very bottom of the door frame for a few pixels and it produces a distracting jagged line, however cropping it out now the lines of the door lead your eye out of the frame, and the lines running along the top are in a similar situation, they distractingly converge with the edge of the frame. if i was maybe a foot further back when i took this shot the edges would've been much more manageable.
lost my sd card reader so it's just* coolpix 995 shots**until i bother to buy a new one (or it turns up)
*(still have plenty backlog to edit too)
**(my only cam that i have a cable to pull images directly off of)
yet-to-be-edited shots from the 995
oops tif doesnt embed. (not surprised)
made a telephoto pinhole lens out of a film canister with a hole in it held up to the pentax q. gotta figure out a way to attach it to the body without outright taping it on so i can take more practical photos with it.
quality-wise this is probably all i'm gonna get, since the q's sensor is so teeny tiny. (although there are optimizations that could be made in regards to the size of the hole vs desired resolving power and desired light).
one of the bigger restrictions on this setup is that the q can only expose for 2sec max on the electronic shutter so there is an upper end on how small the hole can be to get any picture at all.
that's the weird thing about shooting raw, picking up these shots i initially tossed away cuz i couldn't figure them out (or, alternatively, im desperate enough for photographic things to do that im now picking thru year old trashed shots, glass half full or half empty view for one or the other)
