monsters - no tutorial!
And I remembered to keep my progression (aka from time to time duplicate everything and continue to the right).
This shows the evolution from "I want to make a monster for my game".
This is the lesson about rocks again, this time the other rocks ;)
(I did the start of this lesson 12 days ago.)
I might use that as a background in my game.
At least with the fish I strayed from the tutorial.
Used a google photo of one as the idea (but not tracing it, just having it open on the second screen).
After the frog disaster I went back to the tutorial blog, and went to the first entry.
That was fun and felt rewarding :)

I didn't overlay or copy and pasted (had it open on the second monitor and tried to mimic).
Today I took a bird from this picture that @adit made (with permission) and tried to create it in inkscape.
Then i wanted to see, if I could animate it. I downloaded spriter and this is the result.
The plan is to do more of the painting in inkscape.
It's great that you can move everything around when painting in inkscape - but you need to be careful where you drop heavy objects.
Changed the clouds, tried a pyramid. Also a little shading on the cactus and build some blossoms.
the blossoms are fine (got praise from my wife) - she doesn't like the flat mole though.
And I don't like the pyramid. But this is a learning experience, so it stays.
Thanks to bobbo I checked out this page and found an inkscape rocks tutorial, which i tried to follow (the first page).
I think they turned out fine.
I then wanted to try a cactus on my own. I think it kind of worked, overall I am pleased.
I think this went really good :)
Googled pictures of moles (they are actually pretty disgusting) but managed to capture one (kind of) in inscape.
Got praise from my wife. (woho for that :) )
Learned at least how to create gradients (for the nose) and how to manipulate path. (played around with the clouds - edge nodes vs. line nodes and stuff like that.)
changed the highlights on my grass, duplicated a little.
tried to make clouds (learned to use union on shapes) and went for a molehill.
I have just downloaded Inkscape for the first time for this streak. I always wanted to learn how to use it. Let's see what the results will be.
[Insert 60 minutes of trying to get anything done here]
Wow... this is hard (never done any vector graphics ever before).
