Streak Club is a place for hosting and participating in creative streaks.
monsters - no tutorial!
And I remembered to keep my progression (aka from time to time duplicate everything and continue to the right).
This shows the evolution from "I want to make a monster for my game".
New format - it's a quick video that shows the progress on my gamejam game.
All graphics are done in inkscape, animated with spriter and the game itself is based on libgdx.
Here is a development blog: http://itch.io/jam/libgdxjam/topic/12064/devlog-ab...
45 Minutes.. as you can see, that's not enough time.
But still did something for the streak and learned stuff. Even if it's not as good a result as I would have liked.
First try at a flower.
Also I have no clue about scene composition & lighting.
(Just switched the lamp to "sun" and put a blue plane behind the flowers.)
Actually done two days ago, but I need to start the streak right now .. or else I won't follow through.
Complaints about winged bears wearing ties should be adressed to the random japanese manga that comes up if you google image search for "bear front side". :)
Keep to your streak guys, after 50 days I am taking a break from daily inkscape.
(With a lazy touchpad end of the road)
I went over the rabbit from yesterday and switched the inkscape lines from normal black to a shape along a path and changed the colors.
Should look more like pen strokes now. I think it worked out ok :)
(The right one is the one with the changes)
My wife left a rabbit sketch lying around (probably for me, also more then one but I'll to one at a time).
It went ok.. just.. never mirror (flip) it. Looks strange. (Not sure if that's the sketches fault or mine).
.. the pig from this emergency hug: reddit gif
Did this on a touchpad on the couch, instead of with a mouse at the "real" computer.
Still I like how it went :)
Tutorial here: http://2dgameartforprogrammers.blogspot.de/
I checked out the latest tutorials by Chris here http://2dgameartforprogrammers.blogspot.de/ last night.
The roboter I just made is clearly inspired by it, but I didn't open up the tutorial doing it.
(In the hopes of doing/learning more myself)
It went ok ;)
I still should not do inkscape without any base drawing / picture / pattern / tutorial.
Something is still very off :(

This is awesome. You really captured the style of the tutorials to make your own creature!
Unfortunately I think your rabbit needs some work now :) It might just be as simple as getting rid of the black outline around it so it matches more with the style of everything else if it is going in your game also.
