Track For 2HourTrackSunday
I didnt think it get this far (far)
I didnt think i'd leave this bar (bar)
But i was fucked up on patron (patron)
Way Too fucked up to go home alone
I told him i didnt bring my car (I ubered)
His places wasnt very far (come over)
I was too messed up to say no so
I just decided to just go oh
He kept the lights off,
as he moved towards the room,
he slipped off my shoes,
He said girl it's up to u,
We could nextfilx and chill,
as he led to the bed
No cares in my head
I didnt hear what he said
when i smelled it (gary's mattress)
I was in hell with (gary's mattress)
Didn't feel well with (gary's mattress)
I had to bail cuz of (gary's mattress)
It smelt of hot dogs and sweat
And like he had about 10 pets,
but i didnt hear no pets here,
My drunkness became clear,
I looked for my purse,
This has been the worse,
then this fool try to kiss me,
And now even he looked too icky
I tucked and i roll,
accidently touch his dirty flo,
Is this pizza?
there was something on my hands,
what a fucking digusting man,
as i looked around i gagged,
he said the mess aint that bad
Was he freaking mad
I turned slowly, I looked at the bed,
Almost passed out,
My ass should have been dead
There were boxes and trash bag
And that ain't the worst
There were bread crumbs all over
The sheets matted with dirt
Saw roaches and beer cans,
My mind was about to burst
My mind bout to burst
In the open world, there's gold at the end of the rainbow.
Track notes: I kind of didn't try hard enough. I ran a bunch of errands earlier in the day and kind of came home late-ish. I did aim for two things in this track:
1. A new key. Arpeggios. Stuff like that. The composition isn't anything amazing but new keys take a bit to learn.
2. Compose more chiptune and make sure that it sounds like passable pleasant chiptune music that doesn't have anything fundamentally wrong with the timbre.
A few habits I'm picking up: Changing drum timbres. Thanks onezero!
Things I didn't spend a lot of time on: Mixing. I think it's reasonably balanced but I applied very little EQ and compression.
Also, as cool as analog synths are, they fall out of tune and rar I keep on having to fix things. Maybe that's not a bad thing because my ear's starting to get trained finally.
Hope I achieved those goals and that you enjoy this!
Sun, March 19. 11:30 - 11:50. I'd like to work on making arpeggios and other backing elements, chiptune style this week.
I also plan to work on the key of F major/D minor to get more used to different keys. I currently do a lot of C, G, and E and adding another key will help diversify my sound.
It also reminds me that I should work on playing scales as a regular exercise.
13:00 - 13:20.
16:25 - 17:45. Not really my best work - I kind of half-assed the mixing. It was fun though.
Total time: 2h
An extremely busy week of work, performance preparation, and performance, with ups and downs. Coming off a very satisfying snwv set with my new Max/MSP patch at Oscillate: Pittsburgh 2017, here's a quick improvisation with just a sine wave oscillator into the patch. I added a bit of reverb and full-chain master in Live, and cut out a longer part of the noisy waterfall section, but otherwise it's the result of this improv. Features of the patch: pitch-shifting, delay, delay regeneration, and sample-rate and bit-depth reduction, all of them randomized and continually updating. And the time between updates is itself randomized, for extra confusion. Title comes from previewing the piece for the kids, and talking about it after they listened.
I think this was ok for the limited amount of time spent on it. Made in ableton live, Mostly sine wave based track.
Needs a true melodic sound to top it off, but I'm happy with this little rhythm section track
generic 80s horror suspense thing. very rushed, very boring.
Made this with some patches on the Korg MS2000. Went for a more chaotic sound.
This came together rather quickly in an odd sort of way. Not as much sax in this one, just a few runs with some delay. I'm thinking about using this as an interlude track on one of my upcoming EPs.
For this song I used the following:
- DM - The Drum Machine (with some effects automation)
- Logic Pro (DAW/various VSTs)
- Alto Saxophone
*This week does have movie samples. Any ideas on which movie they're from?
