Today I made a water shader all on my own (which I've never done before) and while it's a little wonky at times, I think it looks pretty nice. I also lowered the resolution of the game and mostly messed with visual things. Now I have no choice but to actually work on the game tomorrow
My fish already breaks the game!!!
Got a little character controller prototype done, was able to salvage most of the code from an earlier project. Can't wait to start doing proper game work tomorrow!
Progress was kinda slow today, I'm hoping to speed up development tomorrow
Making a racing game and went with this low poly, low rez design with a normal map for fun. I think they're a pretty neat fish, all things considered.
I wish
I wish
I wish I were a Fish!
Cuz' Fishes have a better life than people
They don't have all the care and strife of people
A fish can swim that's all they ask of him!
I asked a Friend (mysterysoup) whom I have done art for a game called "Vacation Detective" To work on the music for "I Wish I Were a Fish" "The Incredible Mr. Limpet" Fan Game
Made some minor changes, made an itch page and finished the game.

Still a lot of work to be done, but it's starting to come together nicely!

Level design play test
Focusing a lot on the art, I need to begin work on the actual game. Hopefully, procrastination breeds excellence lol
Progress:
Tell me what you think of both the art, and the progress.
I SPENT MY VALUABLE 2 HOURS ON IT.
Let the fish role out off the tutorial level!!
This is CATFISH, and you're in charge of her care! I've got some functionality done so far, but I have yet to implement any interactivity with CATFISH. But that's soon to change!
Progress
Worked really hard on the progress saving one, got to say it's worth it.
So, we had a little setback, because there's still no artist in our team, but hopefully this is temporary.
Yesterday we've planned out our programming tasks and discussed some gameplay details. We've created a github repo, pushed our project and added links to our design doc and task list. Our programmer has finished the fish wandering behavior, attaching a video he sent 😎
Today we're having a sound design discussion and continue our core gameplay development. Day 3 is starting, so naturally we enter a content creation stage of our development cycle.
Fish us luck!!
Made some movement for the game that has no name. Hopefully, I can speed up progress and get a background going tomorrow.
This day, I changed a bit my habit. Less code and more spriting.
I'm not sure if my sprite are relly nice but hey, it's something! :)
The screens is still quite empty, the goal tomorrow is to add some stuff background in the background and some decoration.
Made some more visuals and effects
Been looking forward to this jam, especially since it's my first one since embarking on my indie game dev journey! Really happy with the progress I've made today creating the ocean map, sprites for my fish and implementing their movement.
I thought I'd be content getting the ocean and some movement coded but ended up finding time for the basic NPC or enemy, the food "powerups" and a spawner, so really really pleased.
I decided to go with a game where the player is in a battle for the survival of the fittest and has to eat more than all the other fishies (Maybe even the fishies themselves)
