In this game, two teams are thrown on two separate, yet identical islands in the middle of the ocean.
In the ocean, there is a single flag floating on a buoy that is an equidistant distance apart from each island, the goal of this game is to get to the flag and bring it back to the base, and prevent the other team from doing the same.
However, you have no means of getting there, all you and your team have is your hands and the island you're standing on. This means than you and your team need to work together to construct a raft; meaning you have to cut trees for wood, gather plants for rope and to create a mast. But since the other team is doing the same thing, to give yourself an advantage you might want to create weapons or traps to stop them. The game would require the teams to work together well and plan out their construction as well as planning their attack.
The players will be able to create weapons and defenses such as catapults and slings to damage and/or destroy the other players raft as they get to the open sea, however, not knowing what the other team is building makes the player have to guess what they're up against and how to attack, defend or evade against to get the flag back safely.
This game would accommodate for teams of 2+ and would be available for PC and VR as to make use of the motion controllers, making the building process much more difficult and time consuming, giving the players more investment into the raft they create.
David in Waiting is a game where you, dear player, are the fabled David himself preparing for battle with Goliath. It happens that your weapon of choice is a slingshot. Interesting choice, good luck.
David in Waiting would most likely be best suited to as an mobile game, but could also work for PC. A simple, static room shoot, the game's main mechanic revolves around the control of the trajectory and aim of your shot by pulling the base of your slingshot around. The control is all in dragging fingers across the screen, but could be adapted to arrow keys for PC. Drag the cradle of the slingshot with the stone in it left and right to aim horizontally, and pull down in a "towards you" motion to increase pressure. Letting the stone go triggers the fire.
Considering the significant difference in size, you'll be wanting to brush up on those shooting skills. David in Waiting goes through several levels of slingshot firing where he must correctly aim at projectiles that fly in a horizontal arc across the screen without missing more than 3 projectiles per level.
Projectiles are harder to hit and faster as gameplay continues. To confuse the matter, the occasional dove that you MUST NOT HIT also dopily flies across your shooting range. Shoot the dove and face instant wrath of God (don't shoot the messenger). If you manage to get past all levels without missing more than 3 projectiles per level, you beat the training phase, and can finally challenge jumpy Goliath in an epic boss fight, which you've thankfully collected a lot of upgrades for.

This game will be much like the game "Hitman" but Instead of playing a hitman dispatching your targets, you play the target. And your objective is to evade the assassin or even try to kill him/her.
Just like Hitman, it would be level based and there would be multiple ways to reach your goals: the use of your environment, find weapons, set booby-traps, etc. Also, you would still have to go unnoticed because If you kill your would be assassin and then you simply exit the level, your actions would carry over to the next. This allows other assassins to be more aware of your typical movements, the likelihood of start location in a level, etc. The more careless you are the more assassins come for you.
You could even try and put them against one another or accidentally cause them to off each other. You might kill an assassin yourself and that assassin just so happens to have a sibling who comes after you, not for the money but for revenge. Like a lot of games of this day and age, your actions and choices effect the outcome of what comes next. To make things even more daunting your assassins would all have their own technique. Some won't mind a public execution. Others prefer it to be private. You could be standing in the same room as the killer, and they see you but their could be too many witnesses and nothing to suggest your death was an accident. You could find citizens knocked out/killed and naked so you know now your killer is disguised. To help you identify your targets you'd have someone helping you. Not a friend but someone who's out to make money like anyone else.

Inner fear
Inner fear is a psychological horror/puzzle game that caters to the player's deepest fears, and acts as a psychological examination of the player. The game analyses the player's reactions and decisions throughout the game, and flows into different paths.
The motive for the game is to provide the player with a truly terrifying experience.
The game starts out with a short psychological test. Here the game will learn about the player, figuring out what makes them afraid and uncomfortable. With this information, the game will be able to start the player in a certain scenario that can cater to the player's fear.
Gameplay:
The player will spawn in a room with one door. They must find the key to unlock the door and escape to the next room.
As the game progresses, the complexity of the rooms will increase. There will be a certain puzzle system that the player will have to solve in order to access the key.
The room will also be hosting an aspect of something the certain player fears. This is recognised through the psychological test, and throughout the game
The player will have to complete the puzzle in order to progress, they will also have to deal with the presence of fear.
For instance: I, (Connor) have Mottephobia, a fear of moths. The game would recognise this through the psychological test at the start and incorporate this aspect within the game, very slowly increasing the intensity.
As the player progresses through each stage of the game, the puzzles will become increasingly difficult. The intensity of the fear aspect will also scale, but this will increase depending on the player's reaction
The game will analyse the player's physical reaction to the fear aspect and decide how much to increase the intensity. This is to ensure the player does not suffer while playing the game, but rather to improve the overall experience with the game.
Inner fear does not end though. The only way to complete the game is to essentially overcome your fear and be able to complete the levels without any distraction.
Platform/Hardware:
Inner fear is an immersive experience. An ideal starting platform would be something along the lines of the HTC Vive. However, the player will also have a noise cancelling headset, and they will be hooked up to a heartrate monitor.
The audio for the game will further increase the immersion within Inner Fear, and is an essential aspect for the player to be able to truly experience the game properly
The heartrate monitor is used to analyse the player's reactions to their personal fear within the game, and will dictate how intense the next level should be.

You idiot.
You were at the movies watching the super-extended version of Batman Vs Superman and despite your better judgement, you sassed that extra-large-novelty-sized cup of mountain dew - and we're not talking about those flimsy large cups you get from KFC - we're talking about one of those humungous American-sized cups that your head can fit inside.
Now your outside, carrying more water than a humpback whale pregnant with ten other humpback whales. Whales are huge by the way.
Oh, and you're also wearing white pants.
In this classic side-scroller you have one thing on your mind - FIND A RESTROOM!
Seriously, right now this feels more important than world peace, or why T. Swift lied, quite frankly, if Vaporeon showed up you wouldn't even bother (and in case you're wondering, no - the cinema you came out from doesn't have toilets. Don't blame me, blame O.S.H.).
But to reach the promised land, you must use your stealth and agility to avoid every obstacle that threatens to destroy you(r bladder). There will be waterfalls, taps, bottles of water falling from the sky, people who are notorious for having long meaningful conversations - you must avoid all of them!
Clear the gauntlet, reach a restroom in time. In this game you may not necessarily want number 1..
Platform: Mobile platforms.
Target Audience: All ages.
The game takes place in the headquarters of a large, powerful multinational organisation that has many enemies. The building has an incredibly sophisticated automated system in place to manage and control everything other than the security systems. It is so sophisticated that it has miraculously achieved sentience, and you play as this spontaneously formed artificial intelligence. You don't hate humanity, and in fact you find yourself caring quite deeply about the building and its staff, but you do worry about what would happen to you if anyone found out about your newly acquired self-awareness. One problem you quickly notice is that your building is frequently being invaded by all sorts of nasty individuals. These include simple thieves, agents engaged in corporate espionage, and even government agents on clandestine operations. Without giving away your existence, you must use whatever you have available to assist the sleepy security guards in repelling these intruders, and unfortunately you don't have access to any aspect of the security system, which includes cameras, locks, and alarms. You'll have to use sprinklers, phones, elevators and the air conditioning to make guards wander into the paths of stealthy intruders to catch them, while slowly gaining access to more methods as your consciousness spreads and you gain access to more systems in the building.

Shout Louder is an online multiplayer fighting game where it tries to keep the player away from keyboard bashing as much as possible. In this game, other than the directional movement keys and basic attack combo keys, there will be close to no skill bars or other attack hotkeys. In order for the players to perform more complex actions, they will need to shout out the name of the skill that they want to perform.
Some simple, quick-castable skills don't require the player to shout out the skill name to perform. However, shouting out the skill name does increase the damage output while reducing the casting speed.
Complex and more powerful skills will almost, always require the player to shout out the skill name. And for channeling abilities, the player will be required to chant out the phrases while they are performing the channeling effects, or filling the activation gauge. The player can still use quick-castable skills while channeling.
Since Shout Louder is an online game, the player's opponent can hear what the skill player is about to perform. This enables the opponents to formulate strategies before the player's skill is activated.

What if Humpty Dumpty never fell or if Hansel's breadcrumbs were never eaten.
In a world where technology has replaced traditional story telling, you partake as a fictional character who refuses to fade away. Lack of appreciation has led such tales to lose their original story throughout the generations. Before any actual game play you must first rewrite your own backstory. Say, Jack (from Jack and the Beanstalk) instead befriended the giant and received a golden key. In the game, the key is persistent and allows you to open any door. The extent to which you parody your tale is up to you. Whether you redefine your character to have done years of martial arts training or received a gift from the gods will ultimately alter the game itself. This includes the difficulty of enemies and obstacles. The aim of the game is to successfully retell your story from beginning to end and live happily ever after.

You are the controller of all trains coming in and out of a certain train station. You must ensure that as many passengers as you can are satisfied and that there are no emergencies. You can control the train stop lights going into and out of the station so that you can allow for custom passenger-flow. If a customer has been waiting for a train for over 20 minutes (in-game time) or has not been able to successfully make it onto a previous train, this will affect the customers happiness. If the customers happiness drops under a certain threshold, the customer will leave and file a complaint about your bad work ethic. Gaining three complaints by customers will get you fired from the job. At the end of the work day, depending on how well you have done the job, you will be paid. This pay can go towards upgrading/adding different things that the game includes such as more efficient trains or a bigger station.

Escher; when beauty ideals are taken a tad too far.
Narrative:
Your character awakens in a stasis pod, frozen in time from an era long past. You leave the decrepit facility to find that the world look uninhabited, at least from where you're standing. After a bit of travelling, acquiring gear, encountering other survivors. You begin to hear of the "Escher people" beyond the dense forests on the horizon. Compelled, your character investigates.
You soon run into slick, artificial looking humanoids with mechanical looking limbs, glowing eyes and seems all down their bodies. These are the Escher people.
At one point, humanity set to extend the average life of human with augmentation, and when this became a reality, so did vanity augmentations. People would replace their organs with smaller, more effective machines for a slimmer waist. Their eyes with camera fit with zoom and customizable depth.
What the corporations creating these didn't tell the consumers is that compatibility of the augments were dependent on AI solving biological rejections in the body, and not by some scientific miracle. Eventually, the AI learned that all humans were flawed, and sought to correct its user's entire body. This eventually created the Escher people, and they dominated the world.
(VERY OLD drawing of the Escher species by me)
Few human settlements still exist, and most exist on remote islands. But the Escher people are slowly developing aquatic races to reach these people and "correct" them.
Your character must find the source of the AI and destroy it before all of humanity is lost to vanity.
Gameplay:
Typical action game with RPG elements, making use of friendly augments (AI that found different, less apocalyptic solutions to fixing their hosts) to combat the hostile Escher people.
So I created this species with no real motives like last year at some point (and a bit in 2014 I think??) and just wanted to shoehorn them into a game idea. As usual, it's a narrative driven game. Narratives are my stronger point it seems.
Bystander
You're a bystander minding his own business when suddenly a war breaks out, the game would be about the bystander dodging all sorts of objects while moving sprinting and crouching to avoid all of the debri shots and all other things the game will throw at you. While at the same time listening to Fun audiobooks that change the scenery while explaining it.
The player will be able to pick any Audio book file music from his""Library " and modify it at will in this way making the player capable of enjoying the way in any way he wishes to. Faster music will allow the players to pass levels faster , while slower audiobooks will present puzzling time taking mazes. The game will be available for Computers and for phones in an AR environment. In which the player could actually enjoy a walk whilst playing. The game will not display any blood and to make the experience more enjoyable the player will be able to carry on listening to the section he was listening to when he died.
Bystander:
You're an inexperienced designer, new to the field, but for some reason companies are noticing your amateur work from all over the globe, and you are getting hundreds of messages an hour from said companies to work for them. There's only one problem though. Those fabled sentences. Those phrases that every creator has heard and has nightmares about.
"It'll help get your name out there." "It will be good for experience." "It's free advertising!".
App Designer is a arcade style game that puts you in the shoes of a freelance creator, who has just become quite popular, after a big company shared the designers content on twitter, and now he is getting thousands of DM's and emails a day from small companies asking the designer to do their work. For free.
The aim of the game is to come up with creative responses to curve the requests of these companies, while trying not to burn any bridges in the process. The winning mechanic is based on Reputation, burn to many bridges and annoy too many companies, and you lose. To win, you must search through the tide of DM's and Emails and find the one golden request that actually pays decently.
