Shout Louder is an online multiplayer fighting game where it tries to keep the player away from keyboard bashing as much as possible. In this game, other than the directional movement keys and basic attack combo keys, there will be close to no skill bars or other attack hotkeys. In order for the players to perform more complex actions, they will need to shout out the name of the skill that they want to perform.
Some simple, quick-castable skills don't require the player to shout out the skill name to perform. However, shouting out the skill name does increase the damage output while reducing the casting speed.
Complex and more powerful skills will almost, always require the player to shout out the skill name. And for channeling abilities, the player will be required to chant out the phrases while they are performing the channeling effects, or filling the activation gauge. The player can still use quick-castable skills while channeling.
Since Shout Louder is an online game, the player's opponent can hear what the skill player is about to perform. This enables the opponents to formulate strategies before the player's skill is activated.
