This is - as usual - an excerpt from Tuesday's jam session that we stream weekly on Twitch and YouTube. It's actually two parts - a kind of random soundscape intro that smoothly (well, almost) transitions into a dubby, spaced out trip with a bunch of solos and soundscapes on top of a unchanging rhythmic riff.

@Kedbreak136 thanks! I really liked the bells sounds as well, that's why I had such a hard time fading it out because it felt really necessary to have it all the time!
Technically I think it was Korg MS2000 (OrilRiver-Valhalla Supermassive reverb), and the PG8X VST (Tal-Reverb-4), and some more delays (Live's Ping Pong through LFO-d auto filter, eq, compression, feeding back into itself). All individual elements going through Cabinet effects to try and fake that analogue feel.
Definitely adding the Cabinet and Reverb effects gave a much more interesting life to the sounds, so I recommend trying that out if you feel your stuff is boring and feels too dry and dead.

@Ranranzeau Thanks. The long runtime is something that I am trying to fix all the time. The problem is that I really get into playing and noodling long solos and then I don't have the heart to cut, and because the raw material is a jam session that transitions from one mood to another quite smoothly it's also kind of difficult to separate parts into tracks.
On the other hand, I do like long repetitive tracks that kind of suck me in and I get lost in thought and all that, and so I am not going to be very sorry when people say my tracks have the same effect. :) For example this is one of my inspirations: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Onu8yBDFxOw

It is - as usual - very nice to listen to the evolving soundscapes you create. Keeping things interesting for 20 minutes is quite the challenge, and you're definitely up to it.

I really like the top bell layer - it's easier to hear from 5:50 onwards. This sounds like bells with a delay and another layer mixed to it. It's very nice, shimmering, like a clear mountain stream - I really like this effect. How did you do that?
Nice trippy track. I get the space rock vibe around 17:00 with the guitars.

I played around with my MPC1000 and Volca Sample, then finished this project in Live.

Happy last day of the year, everyone.

Something more contemplative (?) for the end of year mood. I should probably go back and make this track even more shorter and minimalistic though!

Happy with this one, I hope I mixed the guitars nicely.

I thought what if I try to very quickly make an EP out of the jam session I did earlier this week. I managed to "finish" 4 tracks, but I am only posting the 1st one here for now.

This is some loops and sounds I noodled around with on the Yamaha QY100 and then later finished up on the computer and used all of my other regular gear.

I kind of wish it had more structure somewhat.

Really had to rush this arrangement and mix because I did not have much time this week. There's even a whole second part that I did not have time to work on at all, but maybe it's actually better as it is now than if I had worked on it too much.

This is an outtake from this week's livestream jam session, and I hope it shows how much better it is to jam along with someone else (although noodling alone has its perks!)

Tried to make this kind of stream of consciousness harmonic mess with repetitive but out of sync loops out of last part of the streamed jam session that I did last Tuesday.
It's not perfect but I am happy with how it came out.

This week I did a major rework-remix of an old track that I submitted here in 2019 when doing the weekly challenge.

I still did a jam session stream this week that you can find here: https://soundcloud.com/trent-hawkins/telecharger-livestream-26-20211005-weekly-audiovisual-livestream-tuesdays-830pm-cet

Decided to rearrange a more energetic clip of this week's livestream.

The name has nothing to do with the song, I gave myself 5 minutes and this is the best I could come up with.

This is an edited and arranged part from the solo livestream I did last Tuesday.

Decided to give a name to our streaming project with this inaugural track thats a hypnotic kind of minimal part from our jam session this week.

I found the funk factory preset phrases in the Yamaha QY100.

Intro came out well, not sure about the rest of it - I am not so good at mixing dance music maybe.

Rushed track. This time I experimented transposing stuff to different scales-roots using the QY100.

Just a quick one from a longer jam session. I was on the road so I did not have time to work on it too much.

More experiments with the QY100. I tried an approach where I copied the song structure from another track that I like (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kVyTLx2e_tQ).

I like the sound in general, but I should have focused a little more on making the drums more interesting with varied rhythms and some percussion sounds. Better luck next time.
