@luckcharm You are right. Separation from characters to background is very bad here. I like to think that it works better in other scenes, when characters have darker clothes plus different highlight colors. The focal point effect is an interesting thing to test out in the future. Outlines I want to avoid. But in general, I should pick better value contrast. ... Thanks for the detailed feedback. :)

This is just my opinion, but with this particular screenshot it's kinda hard to make out the characters?? Perhaps it's your intent for the characters to blend in with the landscape and look natural, but i just messed around with the picture and I think it'd be cool if you can do this sorta halo effect around the focal point/talking character, or the player when you're moving around. Of course i dunno if that can work in the game mechanics, perhaps it's only during dialogue scenes and such. Or you can always have a black outline around the characters haha.

Here's an example of what i did: http://imgur.com/T9VZwj9

But of course, the halo is just one solution i'm sure you can sort it out in many other ways. This was just a minor problem i've had with this particular sceenshot. If you don't change anything I'm sure it'll be fine as it is!

Sidenote: Pausing my Daily Art at the moment. Too much work, not enough discipline. And somehow, after three years, I felt like I needed a pause. Have some days in my life where I didn't have to think about that one image I still have to do.

I don't know where this is going. Maybe nowhere.

Repainting some elements on the world map.
