Another idle animation. Used PyxelEdit for this. Would love to see this program expanded because it is already great, but there are also many annoyances.

@kheftel Will try the next time I am in PyxelEdit.

@BLK MKT Those keyboard shortcuts might come in handy. Thanks.

@Stephan There was a while where I really gave that one program, Cosmigo Pro Motion a try, but that app is super complex and hard to get into. If you haven't tried Graphics Gale a try yet, I suggest you try out the Keyboard shortcuts and window locations! If you make a workspace you want to retain you can back it up using this procedure. A pet peeve of mine is when pixel art programs insist on having pixel UI that goes against the native UI of the host operating system, so it took me some time before I started getting into Aseprite, but it has some of Pro Motion's marquee features (shaderbrush in particular) without the byzantine UI. Good luck! Looking forward to more animations from you!

I love pyxel edit, I use it regularly.

as far as scrolling goes, can you do a mouse scroll wheel event with the stylus?

@BLK MKT Will also try Aseprite and GraphicsGale this week. Normally using Photoshop for everything.

Pyxel Edit has an "Animations" Tab where you can 'create' animations. It's just saying at which tile it begins and how many tiles it has. But it's probably good for having all animations in one file and then exporting a single one of them.

The annoyances are just these small things. Cursor pixel shown in animation (Feature?). Not being able to drag one of the subwindows to the second screen. No tile numbers shown when using the Tile Placer tool. And of course just the personal ones like not knowing at this moment how to zoom while having left hand on keyboard and right hand with stylus.

A lot of those pixel programs have some annoyance or another, but I'm very excited to see what they're like when they get some refinement! I've been using Aseprite on an experimental basis, but my first pixel love was always Graphics Gale. For the most part, I like Manga Studio for pixel work though.

What has been annoying about Pyxel edit? Didn't realize you could animate in that program! Did you use any other programs for pixel work before this?

Sidenote: Pausing my Daily Art at the moment. Too much work, not enough discipline. And somehow, after three years, I felt like I needed a pause. Have some days in my life where I didn't have to think about that one image I still have to do.

I don't know where this is going. Maybe nowhere.

Repainting some elements on the world map.
