TV Arts thumbnail boards. One of which, thanks to bad erasers, turned out creepier than I ever could have done on purpose.
Today, I bought Kyle T. Webster's Photoshop brush megapack and just experimented (read: messed around) with my Genius tablet that for some reason I had yet to use during this streak. It had probably been over a year since I last touched Photoshop, too. Here's some of the better stuff.
Today, I attempted to draw myself based on pictures of myself (selfies, if you will). Oh, the vanity. It's strange to attempt internalizing the way you look to other people.
(Didn't feel like using actual art pencils or sketchpad.)
Alright, so I was working on other things today and sketched this in the last five minutes to keep my streak going. I feel like that's better than giving up.
Today, I tried to elaborate on my icons from day one. Also included are doodles from Math Class.
Today I filled a page trying to get the perspective I had in mind right for this boat and drawing Garden Gnomes. (I'm working on a writing project involving Garden Gnomes, and I'm thinking of illustrating it.) I should really get back to following my how-to-draw book, but I feel like I'm having more fun just working from my head.
As a bonus, have doodles I made in math class instead of paying attention: a bigger version of me in the pose from a couple days ago, some sort of Ryan Armand fan art, and a half-baked Wirt from Over the Garden Wall.
Working on something based on one of the icons I drew. Also, there's a tiny me who ISN'T standing in a generic upright pose!
A digital tracing/coloring of the drawing of me yesterday done on my Note 4. (I redid the parts that didn't save yesterday.)
Just realized I forgot to add lines to separate the fingers. Ah, well, not that big of a difference.
I've always wanted to learn to draw, mostly because there are so many reasons I'd want to draw. For one thing, I really like cartoons, and to be a storyboard artist you have to draw. I guess now I'm finally going to start learning.
The rows of little drawings of various quality are part of an exercise in a learn-to-draw book of no particular choice of my own. (It was a gift. For my brother.) I was supposed to draw simple shapes, but I got carried away with characters and faces. They're more interesting. I surprised myself with the little elephant in particular.
The person is self-portrait of sorts. The one thing I doodle over and over again in class is this cartoon version of my own head, so I figured a good place to start these dailies was by showing what I already draw.
I was going to upload a version of the self-drawing traced and colored in Sketchbook on my Note 4, but part of my work didn't save. I was pretty angry for a moment, but it wasn't that much work anyway, and I'm not sure I quite liked how it looked. I'll probably try again tomorrow.
