Another Live Jam... Been a busy week.
For this song I used the following:
- PO-12 Pocket Operator ran through a
- KP2 Mini Korg Kaoss Pad, manually synced to
- Xzynthesizr running off an iPad
- MicroKorg running through an
- Afterneath pedal
- Alto Saxophone ran through a
- BOSS RV-3 pedal using a
- Shure clip-on mic
This was recorded live to my laptop, bounced out to MP3 and pulled into
-Logic Pro for some clean up (EQ, level adjustment, etc.)
*No movie sample this week
Sunday, June 18, 14:40 - 17:00. Let's try to create more video game boss music in 16-bit style.
Okay, this was less 16-bit and more EDM… but I guess it has some fakebit chip elements. I didn't really concentrate too much on production outside of mixing and some light effects.
I guess it works? I was initially going to find some 16-bit like sampled guitar, but since I actually know how to play guitar, I cheated and just played real guitar instead. (Besides, I need an excuse to play the guitar, I haven't played in months). It's kind of messy at the end... maybe less is more?
Total time: 2h 20m
Currently on vacation so had to do a "song" on a OP-1 solely. Had about an hour to make this so it is super rough.
Finished my remix for Dillon's contest! I've been making a lot of atmospheric music lately so it felt good to break out some 808s.
I started with just a random trap beat I made about a year ago. Stripped it and reconstructed it. About halfway through I kinda stopped caring what other people would think and decided to get a little metal.
I'm pretty proud of it. I think it's decently unique (as far as trap goes) and goes pretty hard. The only problem is I can never get my masters as big and loud as commercial tracks, so as soon as I compare it to any commercially produced song I hate it. Such is life.
Hope you enjoy! Feedback is appreciated :)

First thing I've done in a while. Threw it together last night after getting some chord/key suggestions from twitter. and remembered this streak so thought I'd toss it up on here :o Actually surprisingly pleased with it.
Kinda in the mood to start this up again.
Summer days don't know my name.
I seen blue skies turn a solid gray.
I seen calm seas dragging good men away.
I seen pure hearts turn poison as nightshade--
cause nothing ever stays
and every touch will leave a stain.
Can you feel it anymore?
There is joy within this world.
I suppose.
Can you see it any more?
Somewhere in between the thorns,
there's a rose.
Are you longing for the day
when the ill will fades away
and we'll know--
What it's like to love.
What it's like to love.
What's it like to love.
