big amount of stuff done!!
Should be finished with the game in the next hour or 2!!!!!!!!
Im incredibly proud of what i was able to do in a week, This project was the first time i was did anything 3d and anything that relied heavily on physics.
As it always goes with gameJams I originally overscoped but i was able to implement everything That needed to be implemented. Its a good jumping off point for me if i wanted to continue developing the game further.
Now, here's the thing I was only able to do this because it lined up with my spring break week and i put like 10 + hours into developing this game for the entire week. And that of course is not healthy and should not be done.
And wearing my influences directly on my sleeve Its a Knock Off Voices of the Void but with fish. I don't care if my game wins but if my little game gets anyone to check out VotV then its a win in my book cause that's a really good game that needs more eyes on it.
Anyways I t was fun, getting a week to just work on making a game with was fun.
Best of luck to all the other ppl who entered, hope yall had fun!!!!!

Spear fish, collect coins, upgrade, and repeat. Was planning on more of a bullet hell style game, friend that played the early prototype preferred it as more of a relaxing game. No real final goal, just collect as many coins as you can and stack upgrades.
Well it's damn near over, I had a good time, I'm just burnt the hell out. Everyone did great and good luck to you all. Now back to the dread of school. Also thanks to PossiblyAxolotl for making this jam, the second I saw it I just had to join due to my name and boredom over break. It's been a good time for my first jam, thanks for hosting.
Also here is the build for my game: https://fishperson12.itch.io/floppy-fish
PS: My real name is Fisher, pls give me bonus points.
yea... im probably not going to win, But its fine
I've submitted my game! Thank you everyone for the support and opportunity with this game jam! My first game jam has been a blast!
There's a few things I didn't quite get around to doing, such as lighting effects and other minor polishing stuff, but I think the final product came out great!
Hope you guys enjoy the game I made, and I'll definitely do more game jams in the future, so I hope you'll all keep an eye out on my future projects!
HELLO EVERYONE!!! TODAY IS THE DAY! I have officially submitted Shotgun Goldfish after a decent amount of polishing today! (it is playable in browser for those worried about any viruses!)
One issue I did have today was that as I was making one final adjustment and setting the unity project to a WebGL project I updated a script and received an error that one of the ref.dll files could not be read because "the image was too small". Did I fix this issue? No instead I spent a good 4 hours failing to do so and ended up having to release the game on a backup I made before the issue came up because the entire project no longer works -_- if anyone knows what to do to fix the error it would BE GREATLY APPRICATED because if I didn't make that backup, right now if that comes up in another one of my projects I would straight up not have anything to submit to whatever game jam I would be doing (which is a SLIGHT ISSUE)
I hope you all enjoy my game as much as I did making it! I'll definitely do more game jams in future so keep an eye out for more games from me!
I finished and published my game yesterday, but I thought I'd write something here https://logs.possiblyaxolotl.com/logview/?log=fish I think that's how a postmortem works, idk, look at it if you'd like :)
For my first game jam, I'm quite pleased and thrilled to have been able to participate. Unfortunately, my ambition outpaced my ability to create my own assets, but next time I'll manage it!
I'm posting the game link if you want to try it out :

Thank you @PossiblyAxolotl for hosting FishFest.
My game Lumino's journey is finished, and I'm just going to sleep for 24 hours... Good night !
Thanks to all who commented on my submissions.
Your comments helped me to come back here each day.
Unfortunatelly, my IRL duties had to go first,
I'll do my best to finish my CascaTrout project but it will definatelly not be tomorrow.
Lesson learned - need to make more games ; )
Thank you @PossiblyAxolotl for hosting FishFest.
Also it was pleasure to share experiences with all of you - other developers / artists / writers.
I see some very smooth projects grew during this week.
I'll definately take my chances next time.
All the best to you all!
The deadline is coming and i didn't make a 50% of my game.
I"m very anxious.
For now I've figured out how to make the main menu then the game scene. The idea of the game is to have this fish either running away or catching some stuff, or both!
So this was basically my last day working on the game, as I'm going back to work tomorrow :(.
So what did I do today? Well, I added a new enemy, the JellyFish. They are quite dangerous.
The thing was that the 5 levels of the game were quite linear and very similar. So to break that up, I added this new enemy for level 3. Since they are there, they will also follow you for level 4 and 5.
I also did some SFX, and for anyone who is going to play the game, I want to apologise :).
I also did some small modifications. I got a nice suggestion on my previous post regarding boss behaviour, which I implemented. I also added some names to the levels. I also added 1 life to the player to make the game a bit easier.
And I also uploaded and submitted my game, Fisk-Like !

(Small UI bug on the last boss which I fixed)
I don't think I'll have much time to work on the game tomorrow, so I'll probably end this series with one last post.
Well, one day and about 500 lines of code later, I made the game. Everything needed in the game is there, it just needs polishing. Since yesterday I've added 3 phases as well as a final boss. I'll probably add some particle effects to make it feel more responsive and satisfying, and maybe add some more art since it looks like utter garbage, but it is a playable game.

It's pretty weird and needs a lot of ironing out, but I'm really happy with my first game jam entry!
You and your fish buddy are competing to see who can catch the most mutated humans. Use the minimap to cast your bobber, attract humans (and don't scare them off), hook them, and reel them in!
It's just a fun vacation for all!
Can't wait to try everyone's stuff out :) Thanks for letting me take part!
As always running out of time. There are so many cool things I would like to do with this game but I have no time.
Will be submitting tomorrow morning after I look for bugs, of which, I have many.
This has been so much fun!!
This is a link to game play. Enjoy!
Progress
Tommorow i'll fix a few thing, and publish the game
