Contagium is an Hybrid between an RTS esque game and a top down shooter zombie survival simulator.
The game is set in present day Oklahoma in one of many “small town USA” that dot the landscape and the surrounding areas. The objective of the game is to just survive the zombie apocalypse. Either start up a simulation and play with one or many random or player created survivors a la “Rimworld” and see how much you can survive the undead hordes while a dynamic storytelling occurs in the background. or just sit back and relax while you see your very own zombie outbreak destroy humanity.
Contagium, in a nutshell: It's A both a Zombie outbreak Sim and a Zombie survival game that seamlessly combines in an hybrid gameplay between an RTS and a TDS. You can either be controlling directly a character via TDS controls and just click “TAB” and now be able to control multiple entities in RTS controls.
The RTS portion of the game allows you to control one or many characters via point and click commands and a diegetic UI that is also point and click. This allows for the much needed macro management when building bases, organizing multiple inventories and pretty much organizing a defense/offense. It makes players life easier.
The TDS portion of the game allows for direct player control over the characters with the press of the “TAB” button, this makes the more micro parts of the game less tedious and easy, and shooting is hella fun, just like in “Madness project nexus” (Web game)
The simulation aspect is almost a game on itself. It allows the player to craft its own apocalypse to his like. Everything from: initial zombie count, armed civilians, available loot, zombie resilience, etc. You craft your own outbreak and see how long you survive it.
All characters in the world have a personality of some sort that define how the will react and survive the outbreak or if they are aggressive or passive. Those mechanics are dependant of.: Traits, backstory, profesion, abilities, etc. Furthermore, the game incorporates dynamic storytelling that will shape the world around you in real time with dynamic quests, events and missions. All of this delivers a completely new and player driven storytelling while the apocalypse occurs.
The accessibility of the game is gonna be as wide as possible, with support for the 4 types of colorblindness. all keys for both portions of the game are configurable and as said before, the RTS portion of the game can be completely played with just the mouse, so it´s accessible for most people.

Playing you unlock different characters with different play styles, some characters can have long range weapons others can have close combat weapons and each character has a set difficulty. And each character has the ability to unlock a secret which can be a power up and a new level to play.
