@kheftel I mean that normally dialogue where you make choices and the standard gameplay (walking around, shooting) are two different game states. If dialogue is initiated, you click on text to continue or click on a choice, you can't open the inventory or do other things while the dialogue has not ended. This is a bit annoying if there is a second player. He was just walking to some place, browsing his inventory, and "Bam", dialogue state, initiated by the other player. I think it would be interesting to see how the game would play if both players were always in control of their character, for example having the chance to shoot the NPC the other player is talking to right now.

what do you mean by the dialog blocking the other player?
