Soooo!
- The merino felted a bit. Manipulate it less next time.
- Mix the acid in the dye to use the wrap-and-steam technique! Had to bathe it instead, which probably caused the felting.
- The core of the merino didn't get very colored. Probably needs more diluted dye so it soaks in better.
- Colors are super spotty. More dye and more stirring next time.
- Pasta / steamer insets work super well.
- Get proper chemistry gear to weigh the dye. Better "spoon", those small plates, and a better scale.
Overall I'm still super happy. I'll probably overdye the chunky yarn because it's too pastel right now
Finished and rewound the silk - had to leave som behind, will chain-ply it separately maybe. And started the BFL.
Wound the variegateds and the Coloris, filling one box.
Finished combing the BFL.
Skeined and washed the Polwarth yarn (tentative name: Alicorn Barf).
Predrafted and started spinning one of the silk gradients.
ONWARDS TO TDF
Plied the Polwarth. Started combing and blending the BFL gradients I like the least. Wound all the Color Variations floss: 60 down, 465+24 to go...
Combed the Polwarth. Plyed the alpaca (2-ply main skein and chain-plied leftover). Started spinning the Polwarth
