Film: The Borrowers
Directed by: Peter Hewitt; 1997.
Think: Jack and the giant beanstalk with the fusion of today's technology and no magic (cause it becomes too much of a plot device
"You are all alone little one" a big smug smirk drew upon the face of Durgo,
His giant grin showed not only displeasure of Omri's kind but the pleasure of the malicious acts of pain and torture he will bring to this one.
Shadows of a former world takes a twist upon the survival world genre, creating an open world through the eyes in a tiny new perspective.
Players are thrust into a world where the it is ruled by Giants, a race of great knowledge and wisdom who despise the smaller race known as Omri, but what the Omri lacks in size is made up of life and adventure, creating ingenious inventions out of the giants technology, as they scamper and hide among the giants in plain sight.
The game itself strives to create wonder and imagination as you the player ventures out in this interesting sandbox video game.
- Tame the localized wildlife - Ride upon the mount of your trusted beloved pug as you venture from the great Omri capital to its neighboring towns, e.g Crow town, a town that is built in an old crows nest underneath the structural frame of a Giant's bridge.
- Soar the wings upon a majestic sparrow, and parachute down in a make shift plastic bag in order to land on the roof of a giant home.
- Stealthily raid the giants home in order to collect food and resources for your own town, only to escape the giants clutches by water sliding down the drainpipe.
- Construct and engineer various inventions for your town, e.g a make shift pencil elevator that is driven by the engine of an old remote control car.

Roots is an action-adventure RPG survival video game that is set in an open world environment and is based on various playable apocalyptic scenarios. Resource gathering requires the player to physically walk and is aimed to resonate the appeal of exploration similar to that of Pokemon Go however the player role-plays the serious and interesting subject of "If (apocalyptic event insert here) happen, how would I survive and could I survive?"
Walking aspect: Roots will differentiate itself by only using GPS to map and seed randomized encounters and resources within the game. As the player walks by and explores, the player will encounter various survival aspects such as food, water, crafting materials as well as enemies.
The player's objective is to survive in that said scenario or if they wish, they can customize having a fusion of elements from the combination of scenarios:
-Plane crash in the Alpine Alps
- Zombie infection
- Alien invasion
- Natural disaster: tsunami, earthquake, volcano eruption.
- Post apocalyptic Nuclear winter
Roots aims to simulate the various scenarios and obstacles the player may encounter, for instance:
- Other factions and their territories: How would you, the player safely navigate through another player's faction? At your level of expertise could you raid said base?
- Bases and crafting: How would you prevent yourself from being raided? How would you stay healthy? (hydration, hunger and warmth)
E.g
"Hey guys, Im a level 53 road warrior with expertise in combat and healing, Im looking for any 50+ Engineers and Scavengers to join my party to help out in a negotiating with team Mystical_Instinctal_Valor_85 before the next Winter. Their base is found within Media Design School, if it goes bad they're defenses are still weak from the last Sunday's Zombie wave. If your interested talk to our faction leader: _SpOnGeBob_85"

Voyage: into the unknown is a 16 bit open-world survival single player game that consists of Multiplayer elements with the ability to be cross platformed between Mobile and PC.
- Taming
- Agriculture
- Biomes
- Hunting and forage mechanics
- Building
- Crafting
The main aspects of Voyage that differentiates itself is the minimalism and nostalgic mobile, sprite graphics as well as the world to be continuously expandable by uploading photos. These photos will be interpreted into a manner much like seeds for procedural generated worlds within current games such as, MineCraft or No Man's Sky. However the picture uploaded can be predetermined to spawn certain biomes with unique elements that can be only found within those areas e.g Your beach photo could spawn coastal regions or Islands within the world whilst Urban photos could instead spawn more villages or construction resources within the game itself.
Another aspect of the game is that the networking for the PC platform follow similar methods to that of other massive multiplayer web browser games such of the likes of Slither.io and Agar.io when playing. Enlarging the accessibility under the concept "You don't need high end specs*(graphics and net speed) as a requirement to having a "good time"
Geo-location of where your phone plays the game can distinguish what is available to the player as well, creating a more individualistic game promoting travel as well as reflecting exploration in the real world.
For instances: New Zealand: would have tribal and Maori themed NPC villages, within a high dense forestry biome and the unique geolocalised items would be taming Moas, Green Stone weaponry and culturally diverse methods of crafting. In comparison a player playing in Scotland could be cultural educated on their heritage and have more Nordic themed i.e Fishing upon their Viking fleet.
