Only had a couple of hours this week and experimented with Ableton's arpeggiator on the minilogue xd. A bit of Wider, Valhalla Supermassive and voilà.
Here's an unusual one from me this week. I happened to be near a cello so I did a sparse improv on it, more about texture and rhythm than actual melody and development. Then I added a drone and some FX courtesy of a really washed out radio sound.

Another rock one. I don't feel like a lot of the rock stuff I've been writing is particularly interesting to listen to. The riffs just aren't catchy enough, and I think I missing something when it comes to layering the rhythm sections... Just gotta keep iterating, I guess :)
I got a bit carried away with this one, I had a few cool acoustic riffs based on the same open tuning as last week (CGCGCD), I tried to build a more complex song by adding various parts with drums, bass and electric guitar. Not really satisfied with the final result, some good parts though I think... The mix is probably not that good either. Acoustic guitars recorded with a single AT mic, electric guitars and bass through Line6 Helix, drums are EZDrummer2, recorded and mixed in Harrison Mixbus.
This is Halloween season, it's appropriate to go into horror/goth territory. Here's a track inspired by the poem The Raven by Edgar Allan Poe.
It actually started with the slightly campy bass line. I then did an abbreviated version of the poem, and used vo.codes to generate appropriate reading of the text.
Adding some horror sound effects to finish everyone. This is a good training for what i've been working on with a friend: a re-imagining of Christmas traditional songs into dark gothic versions.
10 weeks to go!
Another guitar-only track, this one three tracks of PureSalem Mendiola. I tracked a few loose improvisations (much like the last few weeks), and then went off on another key--and these were tighter chord progressions and themes (in response to the first loose line you hear in the left channel). So I threw out the first couple passes, and kept responding to previous snippets in the new key.
Guitar: PureSalem Mendiola (one track neck pickup, one bridge, one both) through EHX LPB2ube. Channels got a couple different convolution reverbs, and there's the Wide & Warm preset for multi-band compression.
Title comes from the galaxy M94 apparently having little dark matter (that we've detected).
