Started 3 years ago (2021-01-01T05:00:00Z). Goes forever.

Rule: Take some time each day to do something that makes the life of you, or someone else, a little bit better!

Too vague? There is no fixed requirement for what it is you do, and it doesn't matter how big or small your progress is. You set the goal. I recommend pushing as far as you can, but even a single line of code, one frame of animation, or a single sentence in a novel you're writing, it all counts, and it all has value. Even brushing your teeth, making your bed, or eating a healthy meal, if that's all you can muster. Progress is progress. I won't judge what counts as progress for you.

If you feel up to it, you can always keep going after the minimum goal is met! After all, sometimes getting started is the hardest part. But if you don't, that's fine too. You've met your goal, and that's all that's asked of you. I hope you'll meet it again!

This streak should be particularly useful for those of you who can never predict what they're going to be doing throughout the day. Inspired to make a Minecraft build out of the blue? It counts! Planted some flowers? They're beautiful! Cleaned your kitchen? Heck yeah! All I suggest is that you do something that adds a bit of positive value to you or the world around you.

This streak works entirely based off of the honor system (after all, it's your personal streak!) and even if you don't want to share what you did, feel free to post an empty submission and enjoy the fact that your progress was counted.

The deadline for each day is at 6 a.m. of the following day, instead of midnight. This makes it easier for night owls or chronic procrastinators to join in.

This is the daily version of the Weekly Progress Streak.

Streak tracking:

I just discovered this website exists today. I've always wanted a place to track streaks (they make my brain happy) but I never found a good website for it. Since this place is seemingly run by the same person(people?) running itch.io, this seems to be a pretty good start.

My interests tend to be pretty fickle, jumping between different topics on sometimes even an hourly basis, but there was no streak to track something like that on here. They're all pretty specific, like draw something each day, write 200 words, etc.

That doesn't work with my brain unfortunately, and I figure someone else will have the same issue, so I made the Weekly and Daily Progress Streak trackers to help us out. By design, the requirements for completing the goal is absolutely minimal, and entirely up to you at any given moment, only requiring you to add some positive change to the world. Helping my future self seems pretty positive! So, mission accomplished. I hope it helps you too.

Minecraft:

I also made a little Minecraft note block track. It plays the repeating arpeggios from The Avatar's Love. I don't know if I can upload videos on here, but there's a screenshot below of the track at least. You can trust me when I say the original song sounds better, anyway.

Beyond that, I've been learning the basics of Minecraft server modding, with some help from a friend who's done it before. The setup phase sucks, cuz finding a good guide is a nightmare. But I did it, and once you get through that part, it's surprisingly easy. Provided you already know the fundamentals of Java, anyway. I already have a tiny mod I made running on my own test server! That feels pretty cool.
