@luckcharm Thanks for your comment. Still feel like a beginner myself. :) These are from imagination. But working with references is very good. I'm just too lazy most of the time. I think you should try all methods:

1. Try to replicate a landscape. Either a painting from another artist or a photo.

2. Take a bunch of references on a second screen or have them physically near you and try to paint something in the style of that. You make your own landscape, but use elements you see in the references.

3. Try to paint from imagination. While doing that, remind yourself of some known practices like forefront being most dark and things nearing the horizon brighter / less colourful. Use "layers" and separate them.

Mix these techniques, but most of all, follow what you like, because motivation is the most important part.

I always see you making such cool landscapes! Do you do these from imagination or references? I'm trying to get better at them but i don't know where to start, haha.
