i'm late, so here's a very quick one, another components experiment (using a black and white texture as the B component in CMYK)

idk i feel like components unlocked something for me, it makes so much sense for my artistic visions it's pretty insane

@999999999 for sure! i'll skip the details and only discuss the main effect

in GIMP, there's components command that allow to split color channels of an image to separate value (b&w) layers, and then merge them back together

in combination with the rest of the GIMP toolkit, this allows fine-tuning specific channels in the color model of your choice (very cool with HSV and HSL!!)

for this one i took the main picture, went to Colors > Components > Decompose..., chose the CMYK color model (the one used by most printers). i then erased the K layer (blacK, the dark ink) and replaced it with a very bright b&w picture. thanks to CMYK being substractive, i got pure colors from the original picture (no black) and applied a texture on top of it

after it's done, just go to Colors > Components > Recompose and tadaa

:O
Could you explain the process here?

these raws are weeeeeird to work with, very green highlights and color shifts on the sides, but still holy shit they look good even pushed

in spite of colors

one of the test pictures i did with a sigma dp1 merrill. the raws look amazing, i'm blown away. i didn't expect the sensor technology to make such a big difference. zoom in on this picture, the details are insane for a 15 megapixels sensor. color looks great too, but i think this camera truly shines in b&w

400 iso, ~0.6s exposure, i can't remember the aperture

je continue de douter du sens de l'art, peut-estre a tort, surement a raison, il le faut

i went outside (part three)

to say nothing

honesty in shapes of yellow

using curves to "burn" the parts of the sensor that received the most light

simulâcre d'intention

first picture taken with my first c-mount lenses (by accident?)

i don't think i'll use it much outside due to how eye catching the setup is, however i love being able to see the entire image projected by the lenses w/o being cropped into a stupid rectangle. circle photography be poppin

started editing this day after taking my melatonin, racing against the clock
