Streak Club is a place for hosting and participating in creative streaks.
Whoops, thought submissions were due Sunday!
Anyways, here's something I put together in the past week. I was kind of surprised how quickly this came together - the week deadline really infused the creative process with a no-turning-back mentality. I definitely worked on clarity of ideas, brining up only a few prominent melodic elements at a time. I also tried to weave in some thematic consistency across the piece between the initial drop section, middle haziness, and mish mash at the end.
The piece celebrates benefits of patience and a slow, methodical approach to success. It's about removing ourselves from the instant gratification we love and idolize in our culture and dedicating our focus to the slow burn.
Listening back I kinda feel like this is an "end of the movie credits" kind of song...would be interested to hear what others think!

What's up streakers? If you're not on Splice yet, you should be - tons of great resources there, including remix competitions / dope stems!
For this week's submission I jumped on the remix bandwagon and put together a remix of a deadmau5 track. I took 128bpm 4-on-the-floor stems and warped and modified everything so I could use it in a downtempo triple meter. I also made a point of really messing with the instrumental stems to make the sound much more my own, including adding new vocal processing into the mix through cascading background chorus and vocoder elements.
I really like how this one turned out! Check out the entry and gimme a <3 if you like it!
Had a busy week last week so took an old project and pushed it over the finish line. Also tried my hand at homebrewed mastering.
This one's on the weirder front - it's about the times where you feel like you've seen it all and are just left a quivering pile of goop on the ground.

This week's track continues themes of brighter, uplifting downtempo stuff from my other three submissions. Arrangement-wise, I'd like to develop it further, but the track stands alone as-is. I'll probably release a ton of the tracks I make through this streak later this year, so I'll revisit the fuller arrangement then.
Hope you enjoy!
I've been gravitating towards a tropical-infused sound lately so I decided to embrace it here with flute and steel drum-esque textures and instruments thrown over a few variations of 4-on-the-floor and trappy future bass bump.
this beat is best served piping hot.

Found a converse sample library vocal sample and chopped it up. The words I made indicate a falling out of a relationship, and it's pretty heavy in the main sections to illustrate this. It's a downtempo, 808-fueled migraine that's both lighthearted and agonizingly frustrating. I hope you like it!

@leafo awesome, thanks for the heads up!
Also if you upload an mp3 with your submission it can be played directly in the browser.
Sorry about that, I thought I set the wrong date when I created the streak. You're in week 1 now.
