No rangiatea is a Rogue-like, hack and slash, puzzle game where you play as all the important characters throughout maori mythology.
Starting with Io matua kore and playing through everyone that shaped the maori world. The main theme of the game is to tell the story of the maori people and how we came to be right from the myth of creation. The art style will resemble that of a story book as the player travels through various landscapes, fighting enemies, solving puzzles and playing out the mythology while the game's grandfather figure narrates what is happening to give it that story telling atmosphere.
This game will give the players a new perspective on maori culture and how the maori perceived the world as it evolved around them and how they explained certain elements we still see today.
The game will also include mini games that will give forms of language lesson to add an educational part to the game, as well as a co-op mode where there will be different myths that are outside of the main story to pay homage to the smaller myths in maori history as well as actual stories from history.
