I k now it's been taking me a little longer to finish these things with everything going on, but I'm pretty happy with this one.
Continuing with using the sax as the only sound source- I sampled, pulled into the sampler in Logic and resampled, which allowed me to play chords and a bassline with my sax. I'd say this is probably the most complex I've gone into sampling my sax to create a song.
I'm looking at dropping an EP of these songs after the beginning of the year if anyone is interested. Thank you for your input as always.
Really having a hard time this past week or so getting back into music. Hopefully I can find my pace and muse again soon..
Just wrapped this one up a few minutes ago. Not really a song, more of an idea that got weirder the more I delved into it. Sort of lost my footing here... not remotely close to the idea I had in my head when I started...lol.
Quirky synth-hop?
Working on more 8bit influenced music this week because I was supposed to do some busking outside PAX today with some chiptune homies, but that sort of fell through, so I just used that time to finish this song. Feeling very self-reflective these past few weeks...
[UPDATE] Picked a cover image (see below), this one seemed to be the most popular. Also finished tweaking the mix, but if anyone has any further suggestions feel free to drop them in the comments.
Happy Star Wars Day and May the Fourth be with you! How would you describe this song? Dubtronica? Jazztrap? Pretty happy with how this track turned out, though I'm not really sure what genre you would call this.
For this song I used the following:
-DM - The Drum Machine
- Logic Pro (DAW/various effects)
- Alto Saxophone
*I think it's pretty obvious where this week's movie sample come from.
Took this week's submission back to my jazz roots. Overall I'm really happy with this song other than my scratching, which need some work (I haven't practiced scratching in about a year). So other than tweaking/re-recording the scratching I'd say I've got a complete song here.
For this track I used the following:
- Logic Pro (DAW/various VST/FX)
- Alto Sax
- Traktor on my laptop for the scratching
Can you guess where this week's sample comes from? It should be pretty easy for fans of the show...
So I really did try to follow the winter/cold theme this time around, but as I was working on this song, found it pulling me in another direction. And once I found the perfect sample to find into the beat, it was over. Guess I'll try for it again next week.
Eventually I may re-record the sax parts, but all in all I'm pretty happy with this one.
The recording of this this track was pretty much the same as the last, just went for less noisy and aggressive this time around.
Here's what I used to make this song:
DM1 (Drum Machine)
Logic VSTs (various)
Alto Sax
Can anybody guess which film the spoken word sample is from?
