Aligned is a third person puzzle game where players take on the role of an electron called Spark. Spark must power the circuits he is placed into by collecting other electrons and using them to power equipment or flip switches with the ultimate goal of providing power to the entire circuit Spark is in and thereby clearing that level.
At the start of each level players are shown a map to try and memorise, then players are put launched into the circuit maze, players must navigate the maze collecting the other electrons flying around and using them to power systems so they can proceed deeper into the maze or Spark can fly through switches to activate them. This is made harder by the fact Spark continuously moves forward and moves forward faster the more electrons he has in tow.
Aligned aims to be a simple educational puzzle game, encouraging players to deepen their understanding of circuits while enjoy a fast paced game play style similar to modern racing games. Careful use of tutorial mechanics could easily be used to both educate players on real life circuits while also teaching players the mechanics needed to play the game.
