Crowded Carts is a cart racing game, reminiscent of Super Mario Kart and Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed, however with cooperation integration. This idea is done through duo and trio mode, in which each team has the same amount of players per cart.

In duo mode, players pair up and have two per cart; one player will take on the role of the driver and another in charge of weapons. In a similar fashion to other cart racing games, a player can drive over a box or crate to pick up a random power-up, however it will only benefit either the driver or the 'gunner', the player controlling the weapon can also snipe a crate or box, preventing another cart from picking it up.

Similar to duo mode, trio mode will consist of teams of three players per cart; a driver and two gunners. In regards to pickups, it will be random amongst the three party members, therefore a higher chance for a weapon advantage as opposed to boosts.

Features:

  • Multiplayer online capabilities (preferably with the addition of LAN)
  • Potential for tournaments/competitions
  • Fast-paced mayhem
  • Incorporates the driving game player-base and aggressive shooter-based players

Intended for PC (Online multiplayer with controller integration and a lobby match-making setup)

Idea inspired by the idiom "Two is company, three's a crowd"

Mechanics inspired by Super Mario Kart (1992), Crash Team Racing (1999) and Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed (2012)
