Chicken incorporates the generic horror gameplay, full of jump scares, shifting music and eerie 'save' times. However it also takes into account the capabilities of gyroscopic virtual reality headsets, in which the game detects the player's head movement and interprets it in-game.

The gyroscope is the main influence for this game, as the purpose of the player is to 'not jump' every time a visual or audio cue tries to trick/scare the player. Due to the rise of horror games with VR compatibilities, I thought why not turn the idea on its head – by doing this the player must try numbing themselves to jump scares or at least react a lot more calmly.

Every time a jump scare occurs, the game will act more sensitively to player's head movement as opposed to when the player would just be roaming about, to avoid random game overs.

In regards to whether people would cheat, and just mute sound or not play it through the headset, then they'll only be cheating themselves – and it would still be their money spent.

Features:

  • VR headset compatability
  • Utilise gyroscope sensitivity
  • Jump scares
  • Horror genre approached from a different perspective

Intended for VR headset compatible devices (PC, Xbox One, Play Station 4)
