I dunno. Like the hexes, but square grid is just so much easier to do stuff on.

still suffering from disco lighting, but worked out technique for getting the tiles not looking super shit. also trying some ideas for character designs.
spent all day working on this hand drawn normal map / deferred lighting system yesterday, and totally blanked on the submission. I did produce this bit of disco light art though, so I am going to say it counts.
tried a different angle of the character from http://streak.club/submission/16591 - pretty sure it ended up with a whole different character.
this was better before I colored it, but still kinda lazy.

yeah, like weirdly, if you open the full thing, it is at the correct rotation. @leafo?
I feel like 50% of the time, regardless of the angle I am holding my phone, it will upload with the wrong rotation.
