I fucking hate these lol. I'm in this frustrating spot with ink where going from microns (first two on bottom) to brush pen (right two) just trades one set of problems and lack of skill for another set of problems and lack of skill. Dunno! Drawing's tough!
The charcoal ones actually turned out fine (for me). I need more patience with longer lines (hair), though. Anyway. Try again tomorrow.

I think they're great as well! Yeah, the inking on the braid is a bit weird (heavy, I think) but you have to allow yourself time to adjust to new tools. It's very unlikely you'll pick up something you're trying for the first time and just be awesome at it (if you do, you should see how far you can go with it, though!)
My favourite is the guy bottom left, because he reminds me SOOOO much of the think tank actor from one of the Iron Man movies! The guy in the elevator, trying to talk to Tony that becomes the villain. Him.
They're all interesting, and interesting is good!
@luckcharm
Thanks! You're way too nice! I was a little fuzzy on my complaints, so we ~may~ be in agreement. I liked the ones I did the day before, those blue under-sketches. Like you mentioned, I like that I'm gaining some skill in turning heads in my mind (without a reference, even!) I just really hate the ink that went over the blue lines!
I feel like over the past couple of years, I've gotten better at the...more theoretical parts of drawing??? Like, I've gotten better at anatomy, at posing, at not drawing only straight-on the front or side, at not overdoing muscles (well...), at learning where face parts go. But I feel like the actual line quality has stayed the same. So that, if I were to draw a cube two years ago, and draw a cube today, the lines would be the exact same. We'd see no improvement in steadyness or line control or any of that stuff. I don't know if putting it that way made a lick of sense, haha.
Speaking of improvement, holy wha! That before and after from you is really cool! You've gotten so much better in every way!
!!! These are great?!?!?! i really like the four on the left. especially the one on the top left. the middle one in the top row is really nice too. i find it really hard to draw heads on strange angles like that. good job!
