Father Time

  • PC static room game
  • Trick your enemies by speeding up or slowing down time

Demons are coming to drown you.

Actually, they just want to control time and the universe, so it's not quite as bad. Fortunately, you still control time, so they're the suckers here. Using the speedometer, change the pace of time in order to catch your enemies in the bubbles falling from above. These bubbles inexplicably and very conveniently aren't affected by time, so lucky you. However, the pace of the demons are definitely affected by time (great huh?) so you can control them by manipulating the set speed at which they come towards you. Using the speedometer by dragging the arrow back and forth, you must time the speed of the demons so they collide with the bubbles and are eliminated from your realm.

Once a demon is caught by a bubble it is taken below the surface of Father Time's realm. Where is that? Somewhere dark and mysterious.

The pace and frequency of demons increases until you finally die. You gave it your best shot though, so here's a high score and a gold star.

An asymmetrical multiplayer game set in a fantasy world that inhabits all of the classic horror monsters, such as werewolves, vampires, ghosts .etc, but makes it so that the monsters are instead afraid of the hunters.

The players would be split into two teams, one team being the chosen monster for the level, and the other team being the monster hunters. The goal of the game is for the monster to get to a certain point, or last until a certain time. For example, if the werewolf can last until the full moon, they win and can take out the monster hunters. Or if the vampire can make it to sunset, he will be able to attack the monster hunters without being afraid of the sunlight.

The hunters will be able to select their loadout at the start of the round, and which role they want to play on the team, then they have to track the monster to find its location on a large map. Special weapons do special damage such as slowing, nausea effects or blindness to the monster, making them easier to catch and take down. Similarly, the monster can do similar effects to the hunters, however the monster won't be able to kill the hunters until they have reached their goal, as they aren't strong enough yet.

The game would be for PC / Consoles, and would be either first person / third person. It would have a fairly dark setting, and exist in the past, similar to the settings of the older movies / novels these monsters exist in.

Narrative:

You play an explorer accompanying a research team to Lake Baikal in southern Serbia.

The team has been heavily funded by a corporation to explore the depths of the lake, to investigate past claims of strange activity. Word has it, that artifacts wash shore during the summer, leading experts to believe that an ancient city lays dead at the lake's depths. And the corporation in question wants to uncover and document it during winter rather than the much more hospitable summer months so that it beats its competitors to the punch.

Your character is equipped with cutting edge diving gear and happens upon a tunnel of ice leading to a cavern where the water breaks. Unfortunately for your character, part of the team misuses their new fancy tech to displace large blocks of ice from the path of the boat and accidentally creates a ripple effect that traps you character in the cavern, though still able to communicate with the team, barely.

Another member hypothesizes that your character will be able to find a way out based on a scan they did of the caverns. It appears this place used to be above the lake, due to some telling signs like dead trees. And it was home to an ancient city, their belongings strewn about all over the place, including what appears to be the incredibly illusive Greek Fire, along with other lost relics.

Soon though, things don't seem as simple. Large voids in the scan account for giant unreal structures, far beyond what the ancient city seemed to have stood for. Strange noises recorded account for the beasts who call this place home.

Your character must find a way to the surface, least he/she is trapped Beneath the Ice like the ancient city they've found.

Gameplay:

Your character makes use of the tools left behind by the people before to overcome the challenges ahead. As the history of the ancient city the character has uncovered, so to does his/her own story.

The player will be killing enemies with the combat and defensive tools found. He/she may even set up traps. Resources, however, are as limited as the enemies, and the player will have a fairly difficult time fighting late game enemies with simply melee if he/she doesn't manage equipment properly. But that's the nature of the game, it won't be crushingly unfair though.

The game progression will be designed so that further up the cavern you character travels, the harder enemies, but more advanced the equipment to handle them become. This is accompanied by the narrative in a well rounded way that makes it seem less game-y in execution.

The year is 2516. After the human population reached dire heights and the earth's resources were bled dry, scientists discovered how to alter the DNA of the landscape. They gave it the biological processes of animals, which enabled it to be fed and grown and bred, and killed for oil or wood or minerals. It was an astronomical breakthrough. But the population grew, and humanity became greedy. Eventually the creatures of the land started evolving. They grew consciousness, and began to take revenge on the humans who had abused them.

Summary

In this first-person action adventure game, you play as a scientist who had been fired for refusing to partake in the exploitation of these creatures once they had developed sentience. When most other humans in your area boarded ships that would take them to start life anew in space, you were kicked out by your ex-colleagues. You must now use your scientific wisdom to help you survive in an environment where everything is trying to kill you.

Gameplay

This will be largely story-driven, as the player begins on an abandoned earth and must figure out where everyone went and what the creatures are. It will be open-world and will involve a lot of parkour and quick movements, considering you could be running across a hill when it starts moving, wakes up, and tries to eat you. It will include weapons that you must build yourself from parts of the environment or discover in abandoned cities.

Thrown in Abyss is a simple casual game. In this game, the player can throw anything they want into the abyss. Simply put, Throw in Abyss is a game for releasing stress.

If the player had a bad day, they can throw all their worries into the abyss. If the player is too lazy to do homework, they can chuck it in the abyss. If someone annoys the player, that person can be thrown into the abyss as well.

There are many ways to throw things into the abyss:

  • Take photo of the object
  • Write down the object
  • Voice record the object

The player will need to think twice before throwing anything into the abyss since only one item can be eaten by the player's abyss per day. Feeding it any more item have 50% chance of the abyss throw out whatever the player is thrown into it in the last 48 hours. If the abyss throws up, it cannot be used for 48 hours.

The abyss may give some questionable helpful advice after eaten an item. Such as "Quantum Physics sound fun. You might want to give it a try." when the player threw their maths homework into the abyss.

The player can also throw other people's abyss into the abyss. This will render said person's abyss unable to function for 48 hours. However after 48 hours, said person's abyss will not be able to be thrown into the abyss for 7 days and the chance of throwing up the previous item is reduced to 30%.

Matrix Runner

Matrix Runner is a 3D top down game in which you play a pulse of electricity that must complete circuits. It all begins when a gamer nerd walks into his room, takes a drink from his energy drink, and turns on his computer. As he turns on his computer the camera zooms into his finger pressing the power button, then the camera follows a pulse of electricity through the computer case, down the wire, and into the PCB of the motherboard. From there the player takes control of the pulse and must use the movement keys to complete the circuit. Then, once the goal has been completed the camera will zoom out again until the gamer and his monitor are back in view. Once he does something else (eg. open up a game on his computer) the camera will zoom back into the computer and you will once again be controlling a pulse attempting to complete a circuit. During gameplay you will have to make choices on which wire to follow (as you will not be able to see too far ahead of you), avoid negative pulse you may collide with (as these will kill you), and more!

Note: I know this game is not 100% accurate to real life, that's why it's a game! J

Objective: Complete circuits so the gamer can use his computer and not get a BSOD.

Target Audience: Mature 8+ years, Male and Female

Genre: 3D top down puzzle game

Platform: PC, Android, iOS

One Game a Day #06.pdf373kb

This would be a mobile game. You are a dwarven farmer, using common magics to cultivate crops of beautiful crystals in the outskirts of an underground kingdom. Dwarven mines are renowned for their rare and precious minerals, with other races from far across the realm willing to pay top gold for the treasure.

You desire the wealth that comes from selling these gems but lack the patience and skill to mine for them. Instead you grow cheap crystals in your fields and sell them to gullible customers at exorbitant prices. Your goal is to use your resources and grow these crystals and sell them for maximum profit. The quality, rarity and beauty of the crystals is influenced by the resources you use to grow them and the care with which you tended them. Rarer, prettier crystals are worth far more when you sell them.

As the game progressed you would expand your farm and growing capacity and acquire new crystal recipes. These recipes would either be purchased or found randomly. The game would have a 3D isometric view with 3D assets and a cartoony style.

It's coming is a horror game in which you have to avoid a demon that takes the form of a bystander and eases its way toward you, until it is upon you and the game is over with your grisly death.

You play the game in a seemingly safe, densely filled room, or public place, and the objective is to make it from room to room while avoiding the demon. The demon looks like anyone else in the room, but does not speak nor eat and marches toward you. It never runs.

NPC's/other characters in the room cannot see the demon, it is only visible to you.

The overarching objective of the game is to go about your life in a certain area, while also avoiding the demon. Objectives might include take your kids to the park, go to have dinner with your wife, or go to your brothers birthday party.

The game relies primarily on an ever encroaching sense of dread, and the idea that no matter where you are, it could be there, advancing toward you.

You are the imaginary friend of a young child, looking after them as they grow up. Their life is fairly ordinary, with most of their time spent either learning at school or playing at home. However, you were sent to protect them because sometimes, when nobody is looking, strange and threatening phenomena occur. These aberrant dangers vary wildly, between clawed, creeping shadows and spontaneous absences of gravity. It is up to the player to care for the child, to save them from attacking phantoms or from meeting a grim fate floating into the sky. These are the imagined fears of the child made manifest, and unfortunately they are just as real as you are. Over time, you gain the ability to channel the fears that you have helped the child to overcome, and adapt them into new powers to ensure their ongoing safety. As the child grows up their fears will change, and the dangers will also change with them, but your job will not be done until they are ready to let you go.

Play as a Sidekick to a superhero, instead of going out and fighting all the major villains, go get the captain COFFEE!! or do his laundry. so instead you go off and attempt to do your own practise superheroing, running into the villain sidekicks who are trying their own small time villainy or their day jobs as waiters and cashiers.

Time management, trying to balance what the hero wants you to do with what you want to do. Text based, with different locations in a overview map, click on each location and do different things at each place to try earn hero points, and establish yourself as your own hero, while keeping off your hero trainers radar when you go off on your own, and to keep them happy in order to continue to train as their sidekick. Travel between different parts of town takes time as well as completing objectives, so you must balance your time wisely for each day

Chimera is a 3rd person, competitive dungeon-crawler, where players race against each other to complete levels and stages as quickly and as efficiently as possible. Gameplay revolves around the players ability to transform into a variety of animals, each with unique abilities that make certain situations faster or more difficult. For example, a cheetah will run quickly, but can be stunned quickly also, where as a gorilla can hit and get hit, yet will move at a slower speed. Different environments call for differing species also, with fish being faster and more agile, but more vulnerable than an otter. You will need to plan ahead however, and not get greedy, as changing forms is instant only until you met an enemy or a puzzle, at which time it gets a delay. Puzzles will need to be solved, bosses will need to be defeated, and checkpoints will need to be reached, all as fast as possible, as levels will have time limits and offer points based on performance.

Mobile app

The idea of this is have an augmented reality yoyo that you have a top down perspective on and you have to move the phone and toss it about in certain ways to perform certain tricks and gain points based on the difficulty of the trick to perform. The aim of the game is to perform tricks and gain points trying to gain the most amount of points to set a highscore and beat your friends.

you have traveled back to a random place and time which happens to be Ancient Rome. Luckily there is no one around you knowing that you will be seen as a threat with your modern clothing and technology. In this 3rd person free roaming game, you are aloud to do whatever you want with little restrictions. you can find a house to see if they have spare clothing which you can steal, then fit in with the rest of society to do whatever you want, gladiator fighting at the famous Colosseum or gamble to see who will win in a fight, join the Roman army, or forget all that and try to persuade the Romans to be their superior ruler through public speaking and your modern technology and understanding. The choice is yours.

In this game you play as the 'single' friend that must help your friends that come to you seeking relationship advice with their various issues.

First you must analyse their situation before picking from text options that appear on screen for what you believe is the best advice to give them.

If you give the wrong advice or your suggestion doesn't work out then you will lose friendship points, lose enough 'FP' and your friendship rating with that person will be reduced.

Each friend has a different amount of starting FP and different friendship ranking depending on how close you are to them, such as your 'best friend' having 150FP and your 'mortal enemy' having -100FP, etc..

By giving the right advice you will increase your FP and your friendship rating may increase for each friend, make enough close friends and the game difficulty will go up, you will have more friends asking for your advice and harder situations to analyse. Good luck.

///Dreamcatchers\\\
//Synopsis\\
Dreamcatchers is a multiplayer online roleplaying game set in an alternate timeline with a "dream within a dream" quality. In Dreamcatchers, the in-game players live a life without pain, be it physical, philosophical, or emotional pain. They have unlimited freedom to create, explore and thrive together in a perfect virtual world. Set in the year 2116, humans have full authority of their bodies with the use of technology. Machines now home the hearts and minds of the world. For a free 30 year trial, humanity has a choice to connect themselves up to the "Nozick", a marvel of future techgineering. Users are free to live lives freed from negativity and despair in a pure, hedonistic existence. If you were given the choice to subscribe to this reality, free of hunger, pain and death, would you take it?

Scientists and engineers have developed the "Nozick", a virtual reality device which simulates real-life while providing experiences of only pleasure. The machine allows the user to stimulate and enter a simulated (but controlled) REM sleep, creating massive quantities of dopamine and endorphins, enabling users to enter a vivid dreamlike state. This state is known as the "Dreamworld", where all users are connected. Pleasure is assured, and Pain is never experienced here; however, users must permanently surrender their lives, souls, and bodies to this machine, as disconnection from the Nozick has a 95% mortality rate. The Nozik is not pixels, resolution of a screen, or data on a server: it is the human unconsciousness itself, manipulated by machine.

However nightmares have been born from the deepest areas of the system, and they terrorise the users who were promised amnesty from such thoughts. The Nozik can not remove them alone, as they are alien and not of the system, and they can not simply shut the program down, as it would render all users brain-dead. Special agents known as Dreamcatchers are unleashed into the Dreamworld to rid it of all conflict and pain. You are a Dreamcatcher, or 'Dreamer', and what you do matters, in a way that handing in quests or running dungeons in other games can never address. Can you stop the mares from maliciously rigging the system, or will Nozick, and humanity, fall.

//Gameplay\\

Birthed from the repressive depths of the Nozick, the Nightmares are the dream manifestations which have been restrained by pleasure. They have pushed their ways out from their prisons, where they had rallied for near a century, and are set to invade the Dreamworld and seek their revenge. Players take the role of the Dreamcatchers, specialised peacekeepers, and work both cooperatively and competitively to remove these threats from the Nozick VR system.

Character customization and advancement are mostly trade and barter based, but micro-transactions and the option for players to sculpt their own (but extremely limited for fairness) armour are available. Ranking and progression enable special abilities and training skills in real time. The freedom sandbox allows players to set their purposes without the need to follow pre-determined missions.

While the human populace plays in the Dreamworld, players can too, but all combat and missions are done in debugging or contested areas. Most of the fighting is done in the background within the system itself, as that is where the Nightmares are; rarely do they breach into the Dreamworld, but when they do it starts a global event where every player is notified.

Day 6

Martial Arts: A Way of Life

This is another VR game. This game allows players to learn martial arts techniques and exercise. Players will need to wear a type of light-weight VR goggle that stays on well as they will need to move their head a lot. There are basic lessons in-game where you can take and you may choose to learn techniques from different styles all over the world. Players will also be able to spar against others online. They will see each other's avatars and will be able to use the techniques they learnt to spar. A lot of martial arts experts and advisors will need to be hired to develop this game to make sure the game showcases martial arts the right way. Since players cannot physically feel that they get hit, there will be pop-ups in the UI that notifies the player where they're been hit. Some effects such as falling back and tripping over, and some moves such as choke holds and joint locks cannot be used since you cannot physically fight the player. The game will instead run on a scoring system where players get points depending on where they hit their opponent.

It's 5pm so you board the train heading home. You awkwardly sit partially on the only available seat and figure out what to do. Your cell phone is critically low and staring at the floor isn't an option as you know you will eventually doze off and miss your stop.

The aim of this game encourages you to catch cold stares and overwhelm them into looking away. During eye contact there will be a series of mini challenges such as quick time events to mentally combat your opponent. Initiate staring competitions whilst avoiding contact with dangerous people. As the game progresses, so do the people and variety of challenges. Different individuals will attempt to look at you at different times in different ways such as the casual glimpse or just outright stare into your soul. Your job is to spot these behaviours and stare right back but please do not try this in real life.

Take control as a lunatic and bring mayhem to the streets. You start on the road, cause traffic rage by blocking drivers or attacking the cars, this would cause drivers to get out their car and fight you. Defeat the drivers and score points. Pick up weapons and fight the endless drivers till you die.

Note some drivers will have weapons, some will be in a group (if you stop a lorry an army of immigrants will swarm you). You fight till you drop. Upgrade your lunatic by improving his stats (speed, strength, endurance, durability) as well as changing his appearance. Remember cars are still moving so they can hurt you, as well hurt the other raging drivers, and stopping cars will involve skill, as standing in front of a car would simply damage you.

This idea could be developed further by having a multiplayer mode and team up with other lunatics online and fixed time mode where lunatics will try to score the most points over a fixed period, think leader boards. Graphics would be simple, like an overhead view. Think old GTA games.

You are an insane builder! You self-elected yourself to build a brand new city! Your objective is to construct different buildings within a specific number a pieces. This means that you may start with 10 different 'building' blocks and you must have at least 8 to finalise the building. But there's a twist, you can only place the certain building piece by putting it down. The game will automatically move the selected piece 'left', 'right', 'forward' and 'backward' in a 3-dimensional space. The building blocks are affected by gravity and so ensuring that the placement is fairly precise is key. If you don't manage to complete a building either in-time or up-to-standard (meaning you lost more blocks than you could) then you fail the level which can be restarted. When a city is finished being built, a total score will be marked which is scaled from many different things such as how precise the blocks on each building were placed and the amount of building blocks that was successfully placed.

Sky Warrior will be a third person hack and slash/bullet hell/ adventure game. A noble warrior has been chosen by the sky gods to handle a very dangerous task. This noble warrior has been protecting the four corners of the Earth for many years. He had won battles and has cheated death ever since he has held a sword. He has defeated many things, from men to great beasts. He has certainly proved his worth to the gods. However, time is taking its toll and the noble warrior is starting to become feeble. The sky gods has given him one more task before his departure. The skies have been littered with demons as of lately and the sky gods want him to slay as much as he can. He is gifted a mighty dragon to ride the skies and slay his foes with his swords and crossbows. The enemies will consist of flying or floating hell creatures and they will charge at player in bullet hell fashion or shoot projectiles. Each level will have a big boss or two with comparatively hard to dodge projectiles and more health points. The warrior will have three types of weapons for him to use. He will have a mighty sword, a crossbow and the dragon's special move. The sword will deal very massive amounts of damage while the crossbow will be comparatively weaker as it is a projectile. The dragon's special will be a thunder explosion affecting the whole area damaging all enemies on screen. The dragon special move will obviously limited to three uses and gain be gained via powerups. The game will end with one epic boss fight.
