Something a bit different for this week. I've been building up a Max/MSP version of the patch that Jaap Vink was using at the Institute of Sonology in Utrecht in the 1970s. This is an 8-channel version of that, with an attempt to make it responsive for live performance. (I actually prefer the performance I did just prior, but I mistakenly recorded it as mono.)

The title comes from the minor planet Iva 497.

Experimenting on this motorik vibe really. The title is a bus route near me.

I caught some kind of cold and my brain is not working normally. I am finishing this one a bit abruptly but still kinda happy with it.

I sort of had mixed feelings on whether I wanted to submit this or try to make another song.. Overall I really like the intro and end, the middle can feel sort of conflicted to me though. Once it gets back into itself it feels good again though..

So I decided to just punch it. But I hope I am able to make music soon here that really hits harder for me. The soundscape felt a little expiermental.. I just kinda went nuts with all the percussion hits.. and bass sounds. I ended up having to compress it a lot to stop it from peaking.. so honestly I'm thinking that could be better for sure.

Anyway, thanks for checking it out. Just trying to keep at it, so I don't stagnate too much.
