There's apparently still some life in the three-track/one-guitar approach. I did all the tracking on Saturday in a couple sessions, afternoon and night. The first melodic motif came out in waltz time, so I went with that. There's the usual convolution reverb send and audio effect rack with multi band compression/eq on the stereo out, but otherwise no funny stuff.
The title comes from the historical fact of Shaolin Monastery being founded on Mount Song in 477 CE.
Another track cut quickly and dirty. What I liked about it is that I used a live instrument on this one (the accoustic guitar). What I don't like about it is that this really is not much more than a sketch of something that could be interesting. I need to get into the habit of starting tracks earlier. Also the sax rhythm is off. Ah well.
means Mind Fracture. honestly, it's pretty par for the course as far as my vibe goes. To me it feels very chill, while still being a little ominous.. but it's got less tension than my usual I think. It's not a super adventurous track- more of a "keep moving" kinda vibe. I did try something new with some little background blips you will hear come in at some point. I may try to ramp up the energy in my next track. Feeling sort of aggressive after this.
