Nifty has been thinking a lot lately about basically everything.
It has caused Nifty to approach familiar things in new ways.
Today's new Nifty had painful hands.
This informed his decision making process with how to do his daily art practice.
He opted to forgo opening and editing each individual photo in RawTherapee like he usually does.
Instead, he wondered if there was a way to select several photos at once and apply the same tools to them with one command.
Digikam, introduced to Nifty by Toyfriend, had such a tool.
Nifty was able to easily figure out how to convert an entire batch of photos to JPEG without hurting her hands.
This is a Nifty win.
This set of photos is sort of working with a feeling I've become highly aware of lately. My chronic hand pain has made it very difficult for me to use the computer and my smartphone like I habitually have. A combination of being unable to use these things and being forced to pay attention to my body's feelings to cope with chronic pain has made me much more sensitive to unexpected sensory stimuli. Today a housemate was watching cartoons in the living room, and before I knew it, I had started paying more attention to the screen than how my body felt. It's so easy for me to become distracted.
"It's a Pentax Q."
"Oh, is it like, film...?"
[they reach for the lens cap]
[I take off the lens cap, turn it on, and start shooting blindly]
"Nah... it's looking at you"
"Oh, is it filming now?"
"I'm just snapping photos."
[they look surprised and quickly walk away]
my wicked impulses...
taken in the backyard of the mousehold the day after queer oil wrestling. really dug the chiaroscuro on its body.

@fennec yeah, so I heard... worth looking into, batch editing is an interesting workflow changeup and it would be nice to do with the program which I'm more familiar with generally
FWIW RawTherapee does support batch editing, assuming that's what you meant https://rawpedia.rawtherapee.com/Batch_Adjustments_-_Sync
