second to last section. the sections have gotten a lot longer as they focus on utilizing everything learned in order to create new mechanics and animations. a lot more lines of code, which i'm generally just copying by hand, but i force myself to write my own comments so i actually understand the concepts.

it also means i get to encounter some common errors and figure out what kind of information i get in the console. some things still fail to raise a helpful error, and maybe i should be keeping track of the instances in which that happens.
