i really like your use of shading! what pencils do you use?

Playing with markers
While searching for reference images I found out the Scarab is not a single species, but a family of over 30.000 different beetles. This particular one is the Sacred Scarab.

@aromoma Thanks. It's Derwent Graphic pencils (HB, 2B, 6B), but the effect mostly comes from shading with the side of the pencil. This sketching paper also has a bit of grain to it.
