Paper planes is flight-simulation game where the player controls a hand-made paper plane. The player can choose to customize his paper plane by giving his paper different folds to create different crafts. When the player is done customizing the craft, they are thrown out of a very tall sky-scraper in a bustling city. The city can go through many different states, such as it being rainy, sunny, busy or windy and all of these different states will affect the way the plane flies. For example, if it is rainy, then there is high chance that the plane will get wet. To combat this, the player may decide to make his craft out of stronger ply-paper.

Finally, once the plane is in the air the player must guide the plane using WASD controls to ensure that the plane flies as far as it can go. Players will be able to utilize the environment such as the slipstreams generated by cars or active vents atop tall buildings. One the player lands, they are rewarded a form of currency which they can then use to get more upgrades for their plane.

Story:

After a hard day of moving in to your new home, it's finally time for you to curl up into bed and get a good night's rest. Unfortunately for you, sleeping in an unfamiliar place can be a bit scary… and it doesn't help that the place might be a bit haunted.

Gameplay:

"Good night, sleep tight" is virtual reality horror game that has the player resting in bed trying to get to sleep. However, the player will start to experience some strange things that may include uncanny creaks, quiet footsteps, cries of terror, demented beings and so forth. The game will try to make the player scared and frighten them. The player loses if they make a sudden movement with their head, indicating that the player couldn't get to sleep and the game successfully frightened them. The game finally ends when the player is able to get the character to fall asleep (not make sudden movements for 6 minutes).

Story:

Ever wondered what it's like to have bad eye-sight? Well now you can in the worst way possible. A zombie apocalypse has broken out and unfortunately for you you've lost your glasses during the inevitable panic that was to come. Now you must find your way to safety without being bitten yourself.

Gameplay:

"Blinded" is 1st person zombie apocalypse game that has the player searching for ways to reach the safe house but the catch is that you can't see clearly. The player can do things such as pickup weapons, find items and use stealth to their advantage but having blurry vision really stuffs things up. For example, you can't distinguish the difference between a zombie and a human really well so before shooting that…that "guy" I suppose, you've got to make sure it really isn't a guy and even if you do decide to shoot, have fun aiming with your vision.

Style points is a third-person multiplayer shooter game where the objective of the game is to eliminate your opponent in the most stylized way possible. To achieve this, players will have access to a variety of different ways to kill someone. Players will be able to run, leap, flip or roll all over different types of terrain to achieve a very unique way of killing someone. Style points will support a number of ways for players to "win". First off, in a team match the winning side will be decided based on the amount of style points collected by each individual member but there will always be an overall winner of the match which is the individual who accumulated the most style points in the match. The main game type of style points however, will be a free for all death match which features a 6 player free for all where all players are competing for the most epic kill.

"Blur" is a 1st person "shooter" game that has the player capturing the supernatural world through the lens of a camera. Unfortunately, though, ghosts are very evasive and tend to move around swiftly and in a jittering manner. This is bad news for the player because camera's in this age have a very hard time capturing fast moving, let alone transparent things. The player starts off as an amateur photographer who owns a very bad camera and has access to these very strange places. During the start of the game, the player will have to learn about the behaviour of some ghosts in order to set them up for the perfect capture. Of course, your camera quality is only so good, meaning that in the beginning of the game the player will capture some very questionable pictures. However, the world is a big place and there are bound to be a few people in the world who believe you, so using that, the player will start to receive funds for better equipment and get access to new locations. There is a loss condition to this game. Since the player will be dealing with super natural beings, they may encounter some hostile ones and will have to get out of the location without being killed.

Story:

You've done something bad and as far as you know, no one knows about it. Well, no one should know about it. Don't be silly, of course no one knows about it…right?

Gameplay:

"They're on to me" is a 1st person game where the objective of the game is to avoid every person you find suspicious. As the game starts the player will start at a random location and be given a place to walk to too. During the walk there, the player may encounter really suspicious looking people indicated by dominant features such as black glasses, a black overcoat and a hat. The player must avoid getting too close to these people otherwise their anxiety may pile up and make them spill the truth. Once the player reaches their objective, they will get new locations to go to and every time there will be more and more of these suspicious looking people. Overtime, the player will forget about this "bad thing" they did and will be able to eventually walk about normally (which is the win condition to the game).

Somehow, by some bizarre ritual, you've ended up in a place known as earth and compared to the hellish place where you've come from, the earthlings here seem to be both abundant and weak. Seeing an opportunity to rule a world of your own, you embark on a journey to evolve yourself into the ultimate lifeform.

Gameplay:

Consume and adapt is a 2D web-browser game where you play as a creature from another world. The player starts off as a human sized organism with the ability to eat people. As the player eats more and more people, they gain evolution points. As they evolve, the player is presented with options to make better themselves stronger. As they continue to grow stronger and get bigger, they will be able to eat more people at once or eat bigger things. Eventually, the worlds military forces will come to stop you, so the player must have gotten strong enough to defend against their attacks. The player wins once there is nothing in the world that can stop them, otherwise, if their HP falls to zero before then, the player loses.

Story:

It's always been your dream to be one of the most famous drummers to have ever existed. Unfortunately, no one's really ever believed in your ability, so you've taken it upon yourself to let the world know of your skills….

Gameplay:

"Busk" is a 2D mobile game which has the user making some drum beats. At first, the player starts out busking on the streets with nothing more than a plastic drum to improvise with. To progress through the levels, the player must make a certain amount of money in each day. As each day passes, the money required to pass each day will increase. To make money, the player must make do with what little equipment they have. At first, they start with a simple plastic bucket which they can tap their fingers on to make different sounds. As the player taps, they will come to realize that tapping in different locations produce different sounds. Using this, the player can make some "sick" beats and make money out of the people passing by. As the levels get harder, the player will gain access to some new drums. For example, later on the player may acquire, say, proper drum sticks! Or even an additional drum piece to tap on. By the end of the game, the player should be familiar with his drum kit and will be able to do free play mode where they can drum all they want.

Story:

You've always been one with a kind heart but unfortunately, you've been forced to join a gang of which likes to do all the things that you don't. However, you must do it. In order to support yourself and your family you're going to have to become a full-fledged member of the gang.

Gameplay:

"Karma" is a 2D side-scroller game about balancing good and bad deeds in order to achieve a specific outcome. Karma plays out by taking into the account the actions of the player then progressing the player through the matching stages. At any given time, the player will have the opportunity to make decisions that will affect their Karma. However, with every action is an equally powerful reaction, so even though the player did something good for say the family, the gang may not approve of what you did. Karma is meant to be a story driven game with gameplay elements to empathize the impact of that story. Of course, the story will be decided on the player's action so multiple endings will be incorporated into the game.

"Catch me if you can" is a 2D mobile game inspired by the road runner where the objective is to trap the AI in a place where it can't break free. Players will have a merit of tools to help them catch this pesky AI and if they do so the AI starts to learn the habits of the player and gets harder as they go on. "Catch me if you can" relies heavily on the AI being very advanced at decision making. The AI will increase in speed as the player progresses levels. During the play screen, the camera will always be locked on the AI which will be represented as a tiny dot in the middle of the screen. The world itself is infinite, so players should never run out of room to build things. As mentioned before, the AI will be capable of determining many things. As an example, it should be able to identify its best path of escape and realize that if it's chances of escaping in a certain direction is lower than the others, then switch to the higher chance. "Catch me if you can" does not only depend on constructions however, the player will find that building at a fast speed may throw of the AI and in later levels in may be a key skill to have when trapping the AI.

Cheater is a 1st person shooter game that revolves around everybody using cheats. Players will be pitted up against one another and will have a selection of characters that have access to certain cheats. For example, one character may have an in-built aim-bot and wields a machine gun but another character may have the ability to see through walls and wields a sniper rifle. The idea of the game is to create an arena where some cheats cancel out other cheats just like in the example above. "Cheater" will feature up to a 6v6 Deathmatch and a free for all mode as well.

Some character ideas are:

  • Aim-bot with a machine-gun
  • Wall hack with a sniper rifle
  • Lag switching with a melee weapon
  • Look-ahead with a shotgun
  • Scripting with a pistol

Each character will have its own unique style of play and the main method of play is too get into a situation where your cheat works best. For example, Lag Switching would be ideal for getting close to an enemy player but wouldn't be ideal against someone who was using look ahead.

Story:

You've picked up an old notebook. Inside, you find written a bunch of game ideas that are to your surprise, REALLY good. Though you aren't a programming expert, you take it upon yourself to make these games in whatever way you can. Maybe if this turns out well, you could sell these ideas…

Gameplay:

Series the sequel is a 2D physics-simulator game that revolves around finding other existing games and building on it. It takes place inside the house of the player who is a real technology freak. The house is quite big and there's a lot of spare parts lying around for the player to use. The player must try and build all the mini-games and contraptions that are said in the book and the game will feature a sandbox mode that will allow players to add on to the notebook. The player will have access to tools such as basic block programming (a tool that allows for really low level programming) and other fun contraptions controlled by the use of electricity that functions similarly to Minecraft's Redstone.

You are an investigator of supernatural occurrences and you have the unique ability to communicate with troubled spirits that are still bound to the earth for some reason. You are to investigate a case where members of an entire mansion go missing but not a single trace of them is left and there are no signs of any struggles.

Gameplay:

"The Voices" is a virtual reality horror game played with virtual reality head gear and an experimental brainwave reading piece of technology. This game is inspired by my experiences at an event called "Digital Nations" where they had on display a headband that could be worn to detect your state of mind. Using nothing but my thoughts, I was able to blow up a barrel, play little games and even turn on a lightbulb. "The Voices" is a game designed to take that technology and provide players an immersive experience of being a medium (a person with a strong connection to the spirit world). Players will be put into a mansion which they can explore in order to figure out the story behind the family's disappearance. There will be minimal interaction with the player's environment but the core mechanic of "The Voices" make up for it. In addition to exploring the house for clues, the player is also able to enter a state of enlightenment. To do this, the player must pick a room they believe to be suspicious. Once chosen, the player must do something that is a lot harder to do than most people think… which is absolutely nothing. Our minds are constantly swarmed with thoughts so it's very hard (but not impossible) for someone to actually think about nothing. If the headgear detects a very low amount of brain activity the player will start to hear…you guessed it, voices and they may also start to see events of the past but the player MUST KEEP mentally stable and must only observe. If the player starts thinking too much, or gets a fright which triggers a spike in mental activity, the player snaps out of the vision and returns to normal.

Story:

You know that sound you hear when it's really quiet? Like, REALLY quiet? That one that sounds like a high pitched drone and gets louder when you think about it? Well, it turns out that everyone hears the same thing except for you… it's a bit more exaggerated…for there is literally a mouth inside your ear which screams when things get too quite.

Gameplay:

Screech is virtual reality game where the player plays as a character who is not allowed to be anywhere quiet. If the player does end up in a quiet place, the player loses the game accompanied with a very annoying high pitched scream. The game takes place at night inside the home of the character. The objective of the game is to make it through the night without triggering the mouth in your ear. The player must go venture through the home looking for loud activities to do. However, it won't be as easy as it looks. The mouth in your ear craves your recognition. Throughout the night it will occasionally talk and even start screaming louder and louder until the player loses. To prevent this, the player must either physically scream louder into a mic or do in game activities that produce an even louder noise than the mouth in your ear. Be careful though, you do have neighbors and they will call noise control if you mindlessly start rocking out the electric guitar. Obviously, this game should be played with a mic and headphones.

Story:

For your whole life, you've been looked down upon because of your lack of intelligence and clumsy nature. Which is ironic because you're a giant. Well enough is enough, and now it's time for you to be the one looking down on them.

Gameplay:

"Not stupid. Just slow." is virtual reality game played with the vive and its hand controllers. The player plays as a 20-meter-high giant who is on a rampage to destroy the city of Argos after being called dumb and clumsy for the last time. The player wins if the city of Argos is destroyed and loses if their HP falls to zero. Sounds easy right? Well there's a catch.

According to some scientific papers, the average Human reaction time is about 0.25 seconds. The speed of our reaction is directly related to how fast signals can travel from the brain through our body. If you take that into consideration and work with a little math…

  • Average reaction time: 0.25s.
  • Average Human height(male): 1.7m
  • Giant is 20m high…almost 12X bigger than a human
  • Reaction time for a giant is 0.25 X 12
  • Estimated time taken for signals to travel through giant's body = 3 seconds!!

What this means is players will only receive visual feedback 3 seconds after they do their action. For example, you move your head to look left, but the camera doesn't shift its view until 3 seconds after. Another example is you move your controller to pick up an enemy, or block a projectile, but that'll only happen 3 seconds after you actually do it.

3 seconds may not sound like a long time. But trust me, your senses will be THROWN OFF and maybe make you a little sick. What this game should also do is make the player empathize with the giant. The player should come to realize that the giant isn't actually stupid or clumsy. The giant is an intelligent and conscious being but because of physical limitations it can't exactly handle normal humans with care. It should make players think that even though our bodies are small in comparison to the animal kingdom, our size is perfect for what we're doing and we should be happy with that.

Story:

It's no secret that playing the support role isn't all too fun. But someone has to do it, and well, it may as well be you. Playing the support role really wasn't all that fun until you realize how much the support actually does. An entire game could be decided based on your actions and the best part about it is you would never be to blame.

Gameplay:

"The support" is a 2D decision making game about the life of a support player. The player plays as a member in an up and coming E-Sports team who are running in the world's champion ship games. Though this may be confusing, the player will be playing the character's game character whenever a tournament match comes up. The game with the game will be a top-down shooter game which has the objective of eliminating the entire enemy team, capturing the flag or controlling the hill. However, when the player exits the game within the game, they will be put into another top down game where they can interact with NPC's and most importantly their team mates. Every game you play can be won or lost depending on the actions the player…I mean THE REAL player takes. With each win or lose, the player alters the outcome of the game. Remember, no matter how big a play you make, your team may under-appreciate you and may even come to think that you contribute NOTHING to the team. However, they don't know the value of a support and the will never know until it is gone. With this concept in mind, it's easy to see why the player would decide to purposely NOT shoot that guy, not place that ward or NOT heal your team-mate. The game takes a similar path to the game "Life is Strange" but instead of plain decision making, you have the added intensity of the top-down shooter as well.

Story:

Somehow, you broke the time space continuum and now inter-dimensional military forces are trying to kill your past self to prevent your future self from breaking the continuum in the first place. Lucky for you, you've been given the ability to temporarily step out of time itself and with it, you are able to try and defend yourself from being deleted from existence.

Gameplay:

"Give me a sec" is a 3D 1st person shooter that revolves around strategy and puzzle gameplay. The player controls a character that is able to pause and step out of time for a short amount of…. time(ironic). During this state, the player can move around and interact with objects in their environment. For example, the player can still shoot bullets but they won't propel until the player steps back into time. The player can also move objects (say an anvil) above enemies and let it fall when stepping back into time. Using this mechanic, the player must find a way to protect both themselves and past-selves from being killed by the inter-dimensional military force. The player loses if any of his past selves or current self-dies.

Story:

Some alien military force has decided that human beings aren't worthy of earth so they decide to send in massive robotic alien machines to annihilate the human race. In an attempt to both save man kind and prove our worth, one man takes it upon himself to do the impossible.

Gameplay:

Headstrong is 2D mobile game which has the player defending against giant robotic monsters by first intercepting them and then killing them. The game takes place in the area from the moon to the earth and the objective is to stop as many enemies as you can. The player will start very close to the moon and will be able to engage enemies by hitting a button when they get close to them. During a takedown, the player will be prompted with a little mini-game which has the player doing puzzles or time-attack challenges and if the player is successful, the enemy dies otherwise the player has to spend more time chasing them down and doing it again. It's important to note that enemies can get past the player, but to help with that, the player is always just a little faster than the enemies and is able to get certain upgrades after each eave is complete.

Story:

Somehow, the enemy has gotten confidential military documents that must by all means not be exposed to the enemy. Luckily, the documents must be deciphered before any information can be read. In a last attempt to retrieve the documents again, a secret experimental task force is released with the job of getting the documents back.

Gameplay

Asymmetric is a 3D, third person stealth game which has the player controlling up to 4 different characters that each have different abilities in order to do specific things. The player may choose to switch between the characters as they please but only one can be conscious (Controlled) by the player at one given time. Using the diverse range of abilities that the 4 characters bring, the player must secretly stealth into the enemy hideout and at the same time, find out more about themselves and what they truly are. The levels of "Asymmetric" will have lots of hidden text and voice logs that give glimpses to what the player truly is. If the player is caught by a guard or a security system, they will be either forced to retreat or fight (which is a distraction tactic) and if they player loses even one of its bodies, the game will end and revert to the last check point.

Story:

Sometimes, the feeling to let loose and destroy everything can become a bit overwhelming, so to help with that, you've been given one day to do exactly that with no consequences. You'll be able to go around punching and kicking whatever and whoever with no consequences because the very next day you'll wake and none of this will have ever happened. Did I also mention we'll give you super powers?

Gameplay:

Destroy everything is a 3D 3rd person game where the player controls an average human being who has been gifted with invulnerability and unmatched strength. The player can go around doing whatever they feel like such as leveling cities with one punch or throwing the moon into the earth. The game will try to simulate things such as military forces trying to stop you and terrified citizens running for their lives. One of the most enjoyable aspects of the game would probably be seeing what kind of things the rag-doll mechanic would do to people. To give a sense of achievement, when the day is over, the player will be presented a score screen that measures the amount of destruction caused.

Story:

Nightfall is approaching quickly and you do not want to stay in a place like this, but you've heard that there's supposed to be a light shower happening at this time. After weighing the two options out, you decide to take the risk and run straight for home. However, during your run you are caught in the rain and must now dodge every drop of rain coming down on you. Life's tough for a small ant.

Gameplay:

"Light showers" is a browser game that has the player take control of a small ant who is caught in a really light shower of rain. The player must use the arrow or WASD keys to navigate the ant through different landscapes all while dodging the droplets of water hurtling down on you through the air. "Light Showers" will feature several maps for the player to progress through and little bits of puzzle problems for the player to solve in each one.
