Gameplay Overview

Eyes on You! is a strategy game with a simplistic premise: you are a global spymaster, observing every nation. The player is given the freedom to buy and sell any information they come across between governments, to the highest bidder. In order to keep their operations secret, the player has to move their mobile command boat around the globe. This element takes place in real time, so players must keep an eye on the increasing suspicion meter. If local suspicion gets too high and authorities investigate, the player may be caught and have to flee. Much of the gameplay takes place on the same 3D globe, as players deploy 'agents' to any of the nations. When an agent is within a nation, they can perform a number of actions, like 'acquire classified information', or 'sabotage infrastructure'. Players perform these actions to fulfill requests from other nations, which results in rewards from those quest givers. Rewards received can range from cold, hard cash to experienced agents and useful technology. A dialogue system serves as the primary mode of interaction with these national representatives. Many options make themselves apparent, with particular options offered depending on a player's' statistics or actions.

Style

The game aesthetic and style is alt-1950s esque, much like The Incredibles, and Evil Genius - keeping the tone of the game fairly whimsical and entertaining. Much like the visual style, the storyline and quests also fall in line, with missions involving situations like swapping computers with inflatable replicas. The almost cartoonish nature of the game allows it to take on a much more lighthearted tone, making the game more entertaining to play.

Narrative

The narrative in Eyes on You! follows a fairly straightforward premise: as the leader of a covert agency, you are tasked with following a trail of information in order to uncover a sinister conspiracy. As the story progresses, the plot escalates to the point where the very existence of the organisation is at threat. Along the threads of the story, players encounter a varied roster of characters, from national leaders to everyday people under suspicion. Because the main character is directly controlled by the player, interactions with these characters takes place from the player's perspective. The options that a player chooses directly affects the way that the story progresses.

Game's map is depicted in a similar to this, but in a 3-D globe representation.
