Animals, Inc. is a "Zoo Tycoon" game with a difference. Players take control of a run-down zoo on the surface of the moon, and are tasked with making it profitable again. Players have to create the animals that they show off to customers, because there are no animals on the moon. Players have to create their animals from the ground up, as there are no more animals left. Like creation of civilizations in SPORE, animals are created from the cellular stage. Animals are created from a variety of aspects, and players have to choose from several attributes and traits that certain animals have to create them. Aspects like aggression and intelligence are cornerstone elements of animals that players create. These aspects will directly influence the visitors' reception to those animals, from how 'cute' they look to how excited they get when watching them. As players develop and expand their zoo, they can research more advanced aspects and methods for creating animals to become even more popular. Marketing and research and development are handled internally, meaning that the player chooses how the park is marketed, and how heavily they want to focus on development. Players will also encounter challenges from other groups, such as raising a certain animal, or creating an animal for another theme park. Players must complete a number of objectives in order to win the game, including hosting the biggest exhibition of animals ever.

Features Include:

Play God: Create new and interesting creatures that further the understanding of science and research, expanding the knowledge of what is possible in genetics.

Build a dream park: Construct a theme park in a zero-G environment. Experiment with creatures in low gravity environments (and their entertainment values.)

Sporting Nature: Create displays of skill and speed for your animals, to impress your guests and improve your overall rating as a park.
