Just playing around today in some spare time.

Some more figure work. My face drawing atm ends up on a spectrum somewhere between pixie and zombie.

Also been trying to simulate different types of paper materials but hasn't felt very successful to date.

I've been looking at black and white architectural photography, Japanese mon and doing figures this week. Decided to just bring all those elements together in a very minimalist form.

Doing figure work. Proportion seems to be key to it all.

I think it worked out OK except for the handle. I felt like I got the negative space but overall just very hard to get it down right. The character is 'summer' which we're into south of the equator.
