Concept Overview:
Erick is a vagrant hacker who mindlessly take one path and then another and open up a door to see where it goes.
Plot:
Erick, a nineteen year old college student known for his exceptional computer hacking skills received an alert from one of his hacking buddies late in the evening saying they had stumbled across something interesting on the deep web. A series of black boxes when opened seem to lead to another web directory. Knowing Erick's curious nature, his friend passed the information onto him. Erick quickly glanced over the data and booted up his IP scramblers to cover up his trail. After moving around all the different codes in an attempt to decipher just what all this information entailed, Erick finally managed to break through the encryption code blocking the pathway and he found himself in another directory with only one thing inside of it, a redirect hyperlink.
Carelessly, Erick clicked on the link and it redirected him to another website. A soft creepy carnival music started playing in the background and a small window popped up on the bottom right corner of his browser, a chat with a greeting message. Despite Erick's interest, he did not want to linger around in that place as the host was most likely surveying the area and monitoring all traffic flow spilling onto the site. Erick knew that he was a lot further into the deep web that he normally wandered into. Suddenly, another chat box appeared along with a very short countdown announcing that an event will take place in just few minutes. Some people immediately passed off greetings as though they were being reunited with old buddies.
The show was about to begin. A person with a mask appeared on the screen. He held a long black cane with a silver skull atop the handle as the decorative piece. The chat-room was flooded with messages confirming that they were ready for the show. The masked individual gave out a flourishing gesture with his cane as he pointed the tip to an area behind him. There was an innocent man strapped to a table saw. The people in the chat box started to debate how the person should be slaughtered. Few minutes later, the sounds of blades cutting into human flesh can be heard and the hum of the circular saw escalated as soon as it made contact. Erick quickly turned his head while covering his mouth and he knew it was time to get out of here.
As he was exiting, a message from a moderator notified Erick that this is a member only website and that his IP was not identifiable. Erick's heart dropped into his stomach thinking "Oh no, they can see my IP address". Panicking, Erick quickly pulled up his command prompt window in an attempt to safely navigate his way out of the site.
Setting:
A living room.
Gameplay Mechanics:
The game is played from a first person perspective. Players are required to backtrack their way out of the dark net using several network protocols and frequently resetting their IP address. Players must decipher code and avoid getting caught by site moderators. The game resides in the horror genre.
